CLSU Capacitates Young Filipino Farmers for Internship Program in Taiwan

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) through the Freshwater Aquaculture Center (FAC) and College of Fisheries and (CF) together with the Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI) organized a virtual training for young Filipino farmers registered in the internship program for Taiwan last July 11-14, 2022. Participants hailed from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, representing the 12 regions of the Philippines. FAC and CF experts provided technical expertise and management capability for the empowerment of the Filipino Young Farmers Internship Program (FYFIP) participants in the online Training on “Basic Aquaculture” as part of their Pre-Departure Orientation Course (PDOC) activities.     Prof. Janet O. Saturno, Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Mr. Eddie Boy T. Jimenez, Mr. Jhon Christian S. Suyom, Dr. Karl Marx A. Quiazon Dr.  Lorenz J. Fajardo, Mr. Jemuel S. Doctolero, Dr. Alvin T. Reyes and Dr. Hazel Monica M. Peralta presented modules on Brief Introduction about Basic Aquaculture (Freshwater & Brackishwater), Tilapia Broodstock Management, Tilapia Hapa-based Fingerling Production, Tilapia Pond-based Fingerling Production, Tilapia Sex Reversal & Fish Health Management, Tilapia Grow-out, Feeds and Feeding, Sustainable Brackishwater Aquaculture and Mariculture, and Water Quality Management, respectively.   A few days after the training, 48 out of 52 participants were dispatched to 33 host farms in Taipei, Taiwan as stated on DA-ATI’s Facebook page on August 15, 2022.     This internship program is anchored on the thrusts of the DA under the OneDA Reform Agenda – “Youth and Women Engagement,” which provides intervention for the youth to engage in agriculture and become entrepreneurs. Through the FYFIP, young Filipino farmers will be exposed to modern Taiwanese farming which will mold them to become empowered farmer leaders and agricultural entrepreneurs.

CLSU Celebrates Monthlong CSC Anniversary

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) proudly joined in the nationwide celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service Commission (CSC), showcasing its commitment to excellence in public service. Throughout September, the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) organized a series of activities for employees designed to foster camaraderie, strengthen professional skills, and promote holistic well-being among its staff. These events include a diverse lineup, featuring Fun Run, Wellness Day, and Sportsfest, which promote health and community spirit, while Customer Relations Management Training sharpens professional skills. The University also facilitated Philsys National ID Registration and a vital Bloodletting Activity, underscoring its dedication to both its staff and the wider community.

CLSU Receives Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity Award

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Financial Management Services led by Dir. Jinky Parugrug, has been honored with the "Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity" Award for the second consecutive time. The recognition was conferred during the Government Financial Management Innovations Circle, Inc.'s (GFMIC) 16th Annual National Convention, held on September 25, 2025, in Tagbilaran, Bohol. This accolade underscores CLSU's exemplary utilization of the Electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS). The eNGAS is a critical software solution designed to modernize government accounting, ensuring all financial transactions are processed with accuracy, reliability, completeness, and timeliness. CLSU stands out among academic institutions, being one of only three universities nationwide, alongside Tarlac State University and Bukidnon State University, to receive this distinction. Other awardees were drawn from National Government Agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs). The award was formally accepted by Mr. John Mark Tangonan, head of the Accounting Office, together with staff from both the Accounting and Budget Office. This achievement serves as a significant affirmation of CLSU's strong commitment to digitalization and its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy in financial reporting.
