CVSM Claims 1st Place in Group Category at 33rd Nat’l Vet Quiz Contest
The Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through the College of Veterinary Science and Medicine (CVSM), claimed first place in the Group Category in the highly competitive 33rd National Veterinary Quiz Contest (NVQC) organized by the UP Venerable Knight Veterinarians Fraternity, held at the Charles Fuller Baker Memorial Hall, University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) on March 17, 2026. The CVSM team delivered an impressive performance, finishing ahead of Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) and the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) in the rankings. In the overall standings, PSAU secured the grand championship title, followed by Southwestern University (SWU) PHINMA as first runner-up. UPLB placed second runner-up, while CLSU claimed a strong third runner-up finish. The winning team was composed of Allen Dave B. Serrano, Mark Joedel U. Mendez, and Renato S. Alombro Jr, guided by coaches Dr. Roderick Salvador and Dr. Christian Allan Santos. Bringing together representatives from 14 universities, the NVQC rigorously tested participants’ knowledge of veterinary medicine, critical decision-making, and seamless teamwork under pressure. The CVSM's triumph underscores CLSU's legacy of excellence in veterinary education, building on earlier victories in various national competitions. Meanwhile, the NVQC coincided with the 2nd Animal Health Innovation Summit (AHIS), themed "AgriVet Philippines: One Health, One Future – Reaching Communities, Sustaining Lives." Veterinary students from across the country, including CLSU students, networked extensively, forging connections to advance the Philippine veterinary sector. #SievingForExcellence
