The CLSU Executives led by University President Edgar A. Orden arranged a meeting with the University Supreme Student Council (USSC) Officials held on September 30 at DHTM Hall to address the pressing issues and discuss the request of students in relation to the implementation of face-to-face classes.
During the meeting, the USSC Officials presented their position which contained student demands such as transportation, food stalls, and other related issues.
President Orden answered these issues wherein for their transportation concerns, he explained that the franchise of the New Association of Tricycle Operators (NATO) has already expired since January. As such, a new policy will be implemented wherein there will be no more franchises instead, individual contracts will be prepared. With regards to food stalls or food availability, he assured the USSC that the food stalls that are operating will offer enough food and that the University Canteen will be providing food delivery services that to cater students from distant colleges.
“I am hoping for a positive outcome and close coordination with all of you. My office is always open for discussions especially if it is for the studentry,” President Orden expressed.
The activity was joined by Ms. Natasha Mae V. Beltran, CHSI Councilor, Ms. Juliane Camile Visa, Cag Councilor, Ms. Roma-Ann Manahan, CVSM Councilor, Noel F. Laoag Jr., CoS Councilor, Ms. Rose C. Santiago, CASS Councilor, Joanna Mae M. Santos, CBAA Councilor, Mr. Renzo S. Padilla, Auditor, Mr. Ned Ivan Cruz, Secretary, and Ms. Melody Joy A. Jalova, Treasurer. Meanwhile, USSC Chairperson Sherren Punzalan was not able to attend the said meeting.
