CLSU Faculty Researchers Join the 5th UC Faculty Forum

Three faculty researchers from Central Luzon State University (CLSU) joined the 5th University Consortium (UC) Faculty Forum with the theme "Sustainable Agriculture Under Changing Climate" held at Visayas State University from September 20-22, 2023 to present their research findings in their respective field of expertise.   Leading the CLSU delegates, Dr. Marvin M. Cinense, Director of the Philippine Sino Center for Agricultural Technology and concurrent Acting Director of the University Research Program Office presented their research output on the application of automated furrow irrigation system in sugarcane during the smart agriculture and precision farming for resilience and sustainable development session.   Meanwhile, Dr. Lorenz J. Fajardo, Acting Dean of the College of Fisheries talked about the assessment of aquatic ecosystems as a resource for informed management under the session on natural resources conservation and management.   Dr. Franz Marielle N. Garcia, faculty researcher from Crops and Resources Research and Development Center and College of Agriculture on the other hand, presented her research on the adaptability of CLSU special purpose rice in Central Luzon under the food and nutrition security session.   A total of 50 officials, faculty members, and guests from 12 UC members attended the two-day forum which aims to provide an opportunity for members of the University Consortium (UC) Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) to share their research endeavors and insights on various agriculture-related disciplines and strengthen the collaboration and partnerships among the member institutions.

CLSU Holds Blessing for Farmers’ Training Hostel

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) officially inaugurated the Farmers’ Training Hostel during a blessing ceremony held on November 20, 2024. The blessing was led by Fr. Rufo Ramil Cruz, CLSU Chaplain, joined by Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, University President, Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, Vice President for Administration, Dr. RavelinaR. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Karenina B. Romualdo, Vice President for University Business Affairs, Dr. Ma. Elizabeth C. Leoveras, Head of Auxiliary Services alongside other esteemed members of the Administrative Council. The newly renovated Farmers’ Training Hostel is a two-story building with 24 rooms, designed to accommodate visitors and guests, particularly those attending stay-in training programs. The hostel is located behind the CEC Hostel and adjacent to the R&E Cafeteria.

CLSU Maintains Strong Global Standing, Ranks 69th in 2025 AppliedHE

In the latest edition of the AppliedHE Public and Private University rankings, Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has reaffirmed its strong global standing by securing the 69th position in ASEAN Region and the 4th rank among public universities in the Philippines. CLSU has been recognized for its high ratings in key areas, including Employability, Quality of Teaching and Learning, Cutting-Edge Research, Community Engagement, Internationalization, and Institutional Reputation. This accomplishment underscores CLSU's unwavering commitment to academic excellence and community development. The recent typhoon brought challenges to Central Luzon State University, leaving visible signs of its impact across the campus.
