CLSU GENERATES AND IMPLEMENTS 200M-WORTH OF RESEARCH GRANTS IN 2017

Through the leadership of Dr. Tereso A. Abella, President and Dr. Fe L. Porciuncula, Vice President for Research, Extension and Training (RET) Program together with the hard working Office/Center Directors and faculty and staff, the University was able to generate and implement a total of Php204,453,717.20 research grants in 2017. The major funding agencies are the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD) with six (6) projects approved amounting to Php104,165,338.98, the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR) with ten (10) projects amounting to Php44,342,526.02, and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) with four (4) amounting to Php41,355,489.00. Other funding agencies include DA-Bureau of Animal Industry, WorldFish, National Irrigation Administration-Upper Pampanga River Integrated Irrigation System, DOST- Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development, DA-Agricultural Training Institute, Department of Interior and Local Governments, National Power Corporation, Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization, Philippine-Sino Center for Center for Agricultural Technology, DA-Regional Field Office 3 (DA-RFO3), and the convergence of Cuyapo Municipal Government, Provincial Veterinary Office, DA-ATI R3, and DA-RFO3. Dr. Porciuncula shares, “these voluminous amount generated through R&D signifies hard work and perseverance and the passion among faculty researchers and staff, as they desire not only to find solutions to problems but also to seek questions and find answers, with broadened ability to investigate systematically.” The generated funds were used to implement R&D projects on commodities such as onion, aromatic rice, organic sweet potato, goats, solanaceous crops, and environment. Aside from these, it also covers projects on impact assessment, establishment of the nanotech R&D facility, socio-economic research and data analysis center, cryopreservation facility, as well as enhancing the operational activities of the CLSU Small Ruminant Center. To emphasize the words of President Abella as he regularly encourages the faculty researchers and staff, “let us continue to embrace the spirit and passion of conducting research in our daily lives and let us not forget to mentor our young faculty researchers and staff, as these two - research and empowered manpower, are the lifeblood of our University. ”

CLSU Celebrates Monthlong CSC Anniversary

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) proudly joined in the nationwide celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service Commission (CSC), showcasing its commitment to excellence in public service. Throughout September, the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) organized a series of activities for employees designed to foster camaraderie, strengthen professional skills, and promote holistic well-being among its staff. These events include a diverse lineup, featuring Fun Run, Wellness Day, and Sportsfest, which promote health and community spirit, while Customer Relations Management Training sharpens professional skills. The University also facilitated Philsys National ID Registration and a vital Bloodletting Activity, underscoring its dedication to both its staff and the wider community.

CLSU Receives Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity Award

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Financial Management Services led by Dir. Jinky Parugrug, has been honored with the "Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity" Award for the second consecutive time. The recognition was conferred during the Government Financial Management Innovations Circle, Inc.'s (GFMIC) 16th Annual National Convention, held on September 25, 2025, in Tagbilaran, Bohol. This accolade underscores CLSU's exemplary utilization of the Electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS). The eNGAS is a critical software solution designed to modernize government accounting, ensuring all financial transactions are processed with accuracy, reliability, completeness, and timeliness. CLSU stands out among academic institutions, being one of only three universities nationwide, alongside Tarlac State University and Bukidnon State University, to receive this distinction. Other awardees were drawn from National Government Agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs). The award was formally accepted by Mr. John Mark Tangonan, head of the Accounting Office, together with staff from both the Accounting and Budget Office. This achievement serves as a significant affirmation of CLSU's strong commitment to digitalization and its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy in financial reporting.
