CLSU "Golden Grains" Hail as topnotchers, Surpass the Nat'l Passing Rate in Agriculturist Licensure Exam

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU)-College of Agriculture has once again proven its title as a center of excellence after producing two topnotchers in the Agriculturist Licensure Examination (ALE) administered by the Professional Regulation Commission. Mr. Gino Redulfin Taboy, who recently graduated cum laude, secured the top 2 spot with a rating of 86.33 percent. Joining him in the roster of topnotchers is Mr. Jonathan Magallanes Simon, also a cum laude, who emerged as top 9 with a rating of 85 percent passing rate. A total of 150 "golden grains" passed the said exam. First-time takers showed commendable performance after earning a 71.19 (126) percent passing rate while the reexaminees with 54.55 (24) passing rate. With these, CLSU yielded an overall institutional rate of 67.87 percent surpassing the national passing rate of 33.3 percent. Congratulations   to all our new licensed agriculturists!

CLSU Triumphs as 3rd Runner Up in CAASUC

Central Luzon State University, through its Cultural Affairs Office, proudly showcased the outstanding talents of its students in arts and culture, earning 3rd Runner-Up in the recently concluded Culture and Arts Association of State Universities and Colleges (CAASUC) III competition. The University achieved a total score of 71 across various categories, including Visual, Literary, Musical, Theater, and Dance Arts. This accomplishment reflects the creativity, dedication, and commitment of the student body in promoting arts and culture. Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, University President, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the entire CLSU delegation for representing the institution at the CAASUC event. “Your hard work and commitment to be the ambassador of culture and arts have not gone unnoticed. This is the fruit of your passion, dedication, and consecutive training. CLSUans, let’s continue to sieve for excellence!” The whole CLSU Community expressed its heartfelt congratulations to the talented students and their mentors for their dedication, which has significantly contributed to this achievement.

Futures Thinking Workshop 2024: Creating Value for SUCs

The Central Luzon State University, through the College of Science (CoS)-Institute for Climate Change and Environmental Management (ICCEM), hosted the Futures Thinking Capacity Building, Scenario Development, and Innovation Workshop 2024, focusing on Value Creation for State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) at the R.C. Undan Hall, PhilSCAT, on November 28-29, 2024. The two-day seminar-workshop commenced with a welcome from Atty. Jay B. Villafria Jr., OIC, VP for Academic Affairs. It was subsequently followed by an introduction to the workshop's rationale and an inspirational keynote address delivered by Dr. Jeannie-Rose G. Fabula, OIC, VP for Research and Extension. Mr. Emmanuel R. De Guia, Resident Futurist on the Committee for SDGs, Innovation, and Futures Thinking, shared his lecture on value creation for SUCs as a resource speaker. Following his presentation, Ms. Jalaine Joyce V. Malabanan, a Course Specialist at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Institute of Open and Distance Education, provided an insightful lecture on Futures Thinking and the Value-Creation Expectation Gap. The program also included a showcase of the innovative products developed through the Futures Thinking projects. This initiative was made possible through the generous support of Senator Pia Cayetano. Her dedication to advancing education and promoting sustainable development was instrumental in providing the necessary resources and backing to ensure the successful execution of this initiative.
