The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) and two Canadian Universities – University of Regina (UR) and University Saskatchewan (USask), have forged an agreement last August 9 and 10, respectively for a collaboration in the field of research, exchange students and faculty, and trainings.
UR officials, namely, Dr. Jeff Keshen, President and Vice Chancellor, Dr. Isabelle Dostaler, Provost, and Vice President (Academic), Mr. Haroon Chaudhry, Associate Vice-President (International) UR International, Mr. Michael Liu, Manager, International Relations & Partnerships, UR International, and Ms. Yue Li, IRP Specialist, International Relations & Partnerships, UR International, warmly welcomed Dr. Edgar A. Orden, CLSU President, Dr. Maria Excelsis M. Orden, former Director for Research, and Dr. Parsons N. Hail, Acting Director of the International Affairs Office and concurrent Head of Linkages and Intercultural Exchange Unit. During the meeting, student and faculty academic and research exchange for undergraduate and graduate studies, and fellowships were tackled.
Meanwhile, the officials of USask who met with the CLSU delegations were Dr. Trever Crowe, Dean of the College of Agriculture and Bioresources, Dr. Meghna Ramaswamy – Director, International Office, Mr. Derek Tiessen, International Partnerships Specialist (Asia), International Office, Ms. Danielle Baron, Manager and Head of Graduate Studies, Ms. Le Li, Med, Senior International Specialist, International Office.
The implementation of activities in USask will commence this year as one CLSU student will be sent to Canada to conduct a four-month full-time research collaboration with the supervision of Professor Tim Sharbel as the host Professor under the SEED scholarship program. The start of this endeavor hopes to continuously provide students and faculty from both institution with mutual benefits and sustainable partnerships.
