CLSU launches eFARM Academy Website

The eFARM (Food and Agriculture Resources Management) Academy Program, initiated by Central Luzon State University (CLSU) and funded by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), has officially launched its eFARM Academy Website on January 25, 2022. The virtual launching was joined by a total of 375 participants locally and internationally. Dr. Gella Patria Abella, program leader preceded the event together with Asst. Prof. Maria Adrielle S. Estigoy and Prof. Celyrah Castillo, Projects 1 (eGROW) and 2 (eKITCHEN) Leaders, respectively, and the whole eFARM team. Moreover, it was also graced by Atty. Lily Freida C. Macabangun-Milla, CESO IV Director III of CHED-IAS and her staff, Mr. Franz Louie Franco.  The resource persons of the eFARM Academy program were also present namely, Dr. Antonio J. Barroga, Dr. Franz Nogoy, Dr. Rich Milton M. Dulay, Mr. Neal Del Rosario, Dr. Jonathan Galindez, Engr. Christopher Pascual, Mr. Nestor Pagaduan and Dr. Emmanuel M. Vera-Cruz. “Everyone is welcome to engage here at CLSU. Be a partner of development”, said Dr. Renato Reyes, Vice President of Academic Affairs and International Affairs Office Director, in his welcome message. He also shared that the eFARM Academy Website is part of the Learning Management System of the eFARM Academy Program which aims to offer and transfer technologies developed by CLSU as a premiere international agri-fishery techno-education tourism hub. CLSU developed and generated technologies will be featured or covered on the e-learning platform. For the first phase of the program, Asst. Prof. Estigoy mentioned that the technologies to be included are aromatic and hybrid rice production, organic onion production, indoor vertical farming system, aquashade system, mushroom production, goat production, and zero-waste pig (ZWaP) farming system. She also said that this initiative will bring challenges but it will also bring huge opportunities. “We will make agricultural education more accessible, so that everyone, or at least to those who are showing interest in agrifisheries, will already be on board the digital express,” she added. On the other hand, Prof. Castillo also shared that eKITCHEN aims to translate the research outputs of CLSU into a variety of food processing technologies and culinary applications that would be accessible through the eFARM Website and social media accounts. She also pointed out that the project aims to encourage the viewers to explore entrepreneurial opportunities in food processing and food preparations. In conclusion, Dr. Abella said in her message “This is our way of bringing people closer to productivity in support to the university’s thrust to serve humanity by educating the world on food security first and foremost.” She hoped to sustain the program as they continue to do their best to serve the stakeholders. Meanwhile, students can now enroll in the course on Zero-Waste Pig Farming System, initially. All other courses will be available in the next few months. VP for Academic Affairs is 2025 Outstanding Muñozonian

Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs of Central Luzon State University, has been recognized as one of the 2025 Outstanding Muñozonians by the Wag-Wag Club for her dedication to education, science, and public service. The awarding ceremony was held on December 29, 2025, at the Science City of Muñoz Gymnasium during the 76th Anniversary of the Wag-Wag Club. The Club bestowed this honor to celebrate individuals whose leadership and service help shape Muñoz’s progress and shared future. This recognition highlights Dr. Velasco’s efforts in advancing academic leadership and community-driven initiatives in Muñoz and beyond. It also holds personal significance since her mother, Marieta Mendoza Recometa, a midwife by profession, was similarly honored by the Wag-Wag Club as an Outstanding Muñozonian in 1967. CLSU Transfers Chairmanship of DC-SUC III/CIRPS to TSU

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) officially transferred the chairmanship of the Development Council of State Universities and Colleges Region III – Center for Interinstitutional Research and Policy Studies (DCSUC III/CIRPS) to Tarlac State University (TSU) during the Turnover Ceremony on December 17, 2025, at Hotel Seoul, Clark, Pampanga. Under the leadership of CLSU President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella and Executive Director Dr. Emil F. Ubaldo, CLSU concluded its 2024–2025 term. During this period, the Council successfully steered 13 State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) across Region III toward advancements in research, innovation, and evidence-based policy development. During the event, Pres. Abella led the symbolic passing of the key of responsibility, signifying the formal transfer of leadership to TSU. Dr. Arnold E. Velasco, TSU President, accepted the role as the new Chairperson of DCSUC III/CIRPS and affirmed his commitment to steering the Council toward sustainable, inclusive, and research-driven universities. The turnover ceremony also served as a venue to acknowledge the collective efforts of member SUCs in strengthening inter-institutional collaboration, enhancing research capacity, and promoting responsive policy studies across the region. #SievingForExcellence

CLSU Shines in September and November 2025 LET, Surpassing Nat’l Passing Rates and Ranking 8th in Secondary Education

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its College of Education (CEd), has once again reaffirmed its status as a Center of Excellence after posting outstanding institutional passing rates in the September and November 2025 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) released by the Professional Regulation Commission. CLSU recorded a 90.48% passing rate in Elementary Education and 91.99% in Secondary Education, significantly higher than the national passing rates of 51.04% and 72.62 percent, respectively. Further strengthening its impressive performance, the University ranked 8th nationwide among top-performing schools with 300 or more examinees in Secondary Education. This marks CLSU’s second consecutive year to secure a place among the country’s top-performing institutions in the said category. A total of 363 “Golden Grains" passed the LET with 76 from Elementary Education and 287 from Secondary Education, earning their professional licenses. This achievement underscores CEd’s unwavering commitment to excellence and its dedication to producing globally competitive educators. Congratulations to all our newly licensed Professional Teachers!
