The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) successfully passed the Recertification audit of ISO 9001:2015 standard conducted by the SOCOTEC Certification Philippines, Inc. after a two-day scrutiny of the documents and services of the four programs – Academic, Research and Extension, Administration, and Business Affairs involved held on May 8-9, 2023. The audit aimed to ensure that the university implements its quality management system (QMS) specifically in the provision of advanced and higher education services, research services, and extension and technical advisory services. During the closing program, the external auditors led by Ms. Marisse Cruz shared their positive findings, observations, and opportunities for improvement which include the commendable participation and support of the Top Management, setting of program measurable outcomes, and checking of functional and non-functional equipment that needed calibration. As a response, University President Edgar A. Orden ensured that the identified areas for improvement and other observations will be taken into consideration. He also expressed his gratitude to the auditors for sharing their ideas on delivering quality service. “I hope the program leaders will take this feedback to their hearts and minds; we should learn from this kind of assessment. In terms of our continuous goal, this is what I always tell our faculty and staff, to have kwento and to make sure that there will be kwenta in every project they do and will do in the future," said President Orden. Moreover, he also acknowledged the CLSU team led by Dr. Angelita Seeping for the efforts in accommodating the auditors and in preparing the needed documents. The University is still waiting for the official certificate that will be coming from SOCOTEC.
