CLSU MARKS 111TH FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY: ADVOCATES "CHEERS FOR HUMANITY"

As it marked its 111th Founding Anniversary last April 12, Central Luzon State University vowed to continue “spreading cheers to humanity.”  This theme which guided the week-long celebrations was inspired by a  line from the  Universitry Hymn, “CLSU…spreads  cheers all over the whole wide world”. The series of activities participated in  by university faculty, staff and students was highlighted by a recognition program for  Service Awardees (46 faculty members and 64 non-academic staff) who have served the university with loyalty and dedication from 20 years to 45 years; and   29 retirees.. Moreover, the university recognized 2 faculty members, and 1 official under the Academic Program, 3 non-academic staff members,  1 research and development team; and 1 presidential awardee under the PRAISE (Program on Awards and Incentives for  Service Excellence) awards.     The recognition program was held in the afternoon of April 12 at the RET Amphitheater. Meanwhile, every letter of the word ‘CHEERS’, in the context of the foundation day  celebration and commemoration, was given by Dr. Tereso A. Abella, CLSU president, a deeper meaning vis-à-vis the role CLSU plays as an institution of higher learning providing various services to its clientele in the country and beyond. In his State of the University Address in the evening of April 13,  President Abella, said: C - stands for the six Centers of Excellence  of CLSU; H - is for Human Resource which,  in the Academic Program alone, comprises 131 BS degree; 200 MS/MA, and 101 Ph.,D. degree holders; E  - is for Exemplary Performance of  the faculty, staff, and students, and the institution as a whole as evidenced by various prestigious awards and recognition; and students’ outstanding feat in licensure examinations; E -  is for Extension Services that helped produce, among others, champion farmers who adopted CLSU technologies; R - is for Relevant Knowledge and Technologies which have been generated through painstaking research undertakings/initiatives; and S - is for significant Partnerships which bolstered the university’s national and, moreover,   international linkages. “We will remain true to our mandate to provide excellent service to humanity, because we have vowed to commit ourselves to render service that will contribute to the welfare of the people, community and country,”  President Abella.said. CBA Students Lead the Ledger at STOAS-CL 2026

Students from the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) demonstrated excellent performance during the Search for Ten Outstanding Accountancy Students of Central Luzon (STOAS-CL) 2026 held on April 10, 2026, at the HSD Multipurpose Hall, Clark Freeport Zone. CLSU Caps off 119th Founding Anniversary with Recognition of Exemplary Employees at the 2026 PRAISE

Capping off the final leg of its 119th Founding Anniversary celebrations, Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through the Human Resource Management and Development Office (HRMDO) honors its most outstanding employees during the Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) held today, April 20, at the University Auditorium, following the morning flag-raising rites. The PRAISE recognizes individuals and groups who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment, innovation, and excellence in their respective fields, ensuring that the university continues to lead in academic and research. CLSU Honors Outstanding Alumni with the “Gintong Butil Award”

For 119 years, alumni of Central Luzon State University (CLSU) have been the institution's cornerstone, serving as global ambassadors across diverse fields. As part of the celebration of the Founding Anniversary, the CLSU Administration honors exceptional alumni for their invaluable contributions and the prestige they have brought to their alma mater on April 16, 2026, at the University Auditorium. This year marked a significant transition for the Gintong Butil Award, as it was previously managed by the Alumni Association Inc. headed by Dir. Nemesio V. Torres, and is now officially under the CLSU Administration through the Alumni Relations Division, led by Asst. Prof. Henrison Sanchez. During the event, Dr. Emmanuel M. Vera Cruz, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension, delivered a welcome message that reaffirmed the university's commitment to nurturing future leaders. He noted that the gathering was not only to recognize achievements but to honor the unique journeys that began within the university’s halls. He further emphasized that the Gintong Butil Awards serve as a reminder that true success is measured by how it is shared. “The Gintong Butil Award reminds us that success is not measured by personal achievements alone, but by how that success is shared, whether through service, innovation, generosity, or collaboration. Our awardees embody the ideals of excellence, purpose, and leadership with heart. As we honor them today, we also reaffirm our commitment as a university to continue nurturing future Butil, who will one day carry forward the mission of service and nation-building.” The university proudly recognized four outstanding awardees who have brought immense honor to the institution: 1. Dr. Jovino L. De Dios received the Butil ng Paglilingkod (Service Award) 2. Mr. Ronald S. Leabres was honored with the Butil ng Inspirasyon (Inspiration Award) 3. USHS Class of 2003 was granted the Butil ng Pagkakawanggawa (Philanthropy Award) received by Ms. Kristel Marie Orden, Ms. Rosselnova Alfonso-Canasa, Ms. Kristine Grace Dalusong-Waing, and Atty. Arvin Randy Teo 4. Leo A. Macalanda received the Gawad Kahusayan sa Palakasan (Special Award for Excellence in Sports) Speaking on behalf of the awardees, Mr. Ronald S. Leabres conveyed a deep sense of gratitude and a lasting promise to the university, stating: “Kung kami ay naging mga leader sa aming komunidad at propesyon, ito ay dahil sa mga aral, disiplina at pagpapahalagang itinanim sa amin ng CLSU. Dito kami hinubog, dito kami tinuruan hindi lamang kung paano magtagumpay kundi paano maging makabuluhan, kaya saanman kami dalhin ng aming propesyon, maging sa trabaho, mga organisasyon, iba't ibang panig man ng bansa at sa mundo, dala-dala namin ang pangalan ng CLSU. Ipinagmamalaki namin ito, sapagkat naniniwala kami na kung wala ang institusyon na ito, hindi kami magiging sino kami ngayon.” The ceremony concluded with a congratulatory message from Dr. Karenina Romualdo, Vice President for Business Affairs, who praised the awardees for their perseverance and their choice to lead with integrity. “Sa bawat hakbang na inyong tinahak, dala ninyo ang pag-asa ng inyong pamilya at ngayon, dala ninyo ang karangalan ng ating mahal na CLSU. Maraming salamat sa inyong pagpupunyagi at patuloy na pagpili—pagpili na maging tapat, mahusay at may malasakit sa inyong ginagawa.
