The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) in collaboration with the Government Procurement Policy Board-Technical Support Office (GPPB -TSO) was set to conduct the Certified Public Procurement Specialist Course program starting this September 2017.
This course is offered to different government organizations including the local government units (LGUs), water districts (WDs) and state universities and colleges (SUCs) in the region to capacitate government procurement officers.
The program which consists of three levels of certification, namely: Level 1-Basic; Level 2: Intermediate; and Level 3: Advanced, aims to produce certified procurement specialists and practitioners imbued with the required body of knowledge, skills set and right attitudes and behavior for public procurement.
The first batch of the Level 1 course which commenced last September 9 will run for seven (7) consecutive Saturdays at the RET Amphitheater, Central Luzon State University.
For its opening salvo, a total of 34 participants from LGUs, WDs and SUCs from Region III including CLSU registered to the said course, to wit: LGU-Science City of Muñoz, Muñoz Water District, Talavera Water District, Bulacan Agricultural State University, Nueva Ecija State University and Tarlac Agricultural University.
“This is the first time that CLSU conducted this course in partnership with GPPB-TSO“, said Dr. Cheryl G. Ramos, vice president for Administration, and chair of the Course Program Team. Moreover, according to Dr. Arnel T. Panuyas, the overall coordinator of the said course, ”we are second in the Philippines to offer this course next to University of the Philippines Diliman”.
This could be considered another milestone in the CLSU Administration program.
The pool of resource person for this course composed of Atty. Dennis S. Santiago, Atty. Elmira S. Cruz-Caisido, Atty. Melissa A. Santiago-Yan, Atty. Jerry C. Digo, Atty. Charity Anne Osdon, Atty. Tareeq Yahya Timhar A. Radjaie, Mr. Allyson S. Goleetian, Mr. Randy E. Flores and Ms. Kristi Ann. P. Rutab all from GPPB-TSO and Director Rosa Maria M. Clemente from the Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PhilGEPS).
Notably, CLSU also has three GPPB accredited trainers in the person of Dr. Chery G. Ramos, Dr. Arnel T. Panuyas and Mr. Ronnie S. Gutierrez.
