CLSU PASSES ISO 9001:2015 RECERTIFICATION

Dec. 10, 2021

Joy Nicole G. Lucero and Roberto Miguel V. Sayco | SCO

The Central Luzon State University has been awarded the renewal of its ISO 9001:2015 certification by the SOCOTEC Certification International for the quality management system (QMS) of the university which conforms to global standards specifically covering the provision of advanced and higher education services, research services and extension and technical advisory services. The certificate was officially issued to CLSU on August 13, 2020, signed by Mr. Gilmore Rivera, Operations Director of SOCOTEC Certification Philippines. SOCOTEC, formerly AJA Registrars Inc., an international leading provider of accredited ISO certification services, scheduled CLSU for a surveillance recertification audit on July 1 and 6. As the country was placed under the enhanced community quarantine due to the CoViD-19 pandemic, the audit was conducted online. Fourteen areas were audited and among the units/programs that have undergone recertification audit are the BS Meteorology, BS Food Technology, Bachelor of Elementary Education, PhD in Environmental Management, Office of Admissions, Office of Student Affairs, Physical Plant and Site Development Services, and the Research, Extension and Training Program offices. During the exit conference attended by Dr. Edgar A. Orden, CLSU President, Dr. Angelita V. Seeping, Lead Auditor and Chief of Internal Quality Audit along with other university officials, SOCOTEC announced that CLSU successfully passed the recertification audit with only one minor non-conformity. CLSU first eyed the ISO certification in 2015 and was registered as ISO 9001:2008 certified on May 19, 2017. With the university’s commitment to continuously improve and advance its quality management system, the institution subjected itself to its transition and first surveillance audit on May 25, 2018 which correspondingly marked its transition period to ISO 9001:2015 version. The ISO certification facilitates the university’s effective and efficient delivery of its services and ensures clientele’s satisfaction.
