CLSU RANKS 13TH IN THE PHILIPPINES BASED ON THE WEBOMETRICS RANKING OF UNIVERSITIES

Central Luzon State University once again proved to be among the top higher education institutions in the country clinching the 13th spot among 288 universities in the Philippines from rank 21st and15th in February 2020 and January 2021, respectively. The Webometrics Ranking of World Universities is an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain. It aims to promote scientific research to improve the progress of the scientific and technological level of the country which will contribute to increasing the welfare of the citizens. The Cybermetrics Lab used quantitative methods and applied indicators that allowed them to measure the scientific activity on the Web. The indicators and their corresponding weights are visibility (50%) - the impact of web content, transparency (10%) - top-cited researchers, and excellence (40%) - top-cited papers. Moreover, it is the 18th year of publication of the Ranking Web to offer full coverage of Higher Education Institutions from different countries and or disciplines involve. CLSU, LGU Licab Forge MOA to Expand TVP in NE

To formalize the implementation of Central Luzon State University’s (CLSU) Technology Village Program (TVP) in the Municipality of Licab, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing was held yesterday, March 11, between University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella and Licab Mayor Eufemia D. Domingo. Along with the University President were Dr. Aldrin Badua, Director of the University Extension Program Office (UEPO), Dr. Emmanuel Vera Cruz, Vice President for Research and Extension, and Assistant Prof. Armando Lagasca, Division Head of the Technology Promotion Division. While Mayor Domingo was joined by Vice Mayor Oliver Villaroman and other officials. Prior to this, President Abella and Dr. Badua visited Licab last January 24, 2025, opening doors for collaboration, particularly in the provision of promotional materials and enterprise development support, and other possible interventions for the LGU. Launched in 2021, TVP is an extension modality of the University designed to transform communities into hubs where CLSU-generated technologies will be utilized to help families attain far-reaching socio-economic development. It was pilot-tested in the Science City of Muñoz and Talavera, Nueva Ecija. Currently, Licab is the eighth municipality in Nueva Ecija to implement the TVP. To date, 110 set-ups have been established with their partner municipalities across Nueva Ecija. By continuously expanding its range in the province, the TVP engages with broader communities to showcase opportunities and promote rural development. Following the MOA signing, LGU officials of Licab also took the opportunity to explore the KAMALIG S&T Agritourism Site. #SievingForExcellence

CLSU Showcases Major Savings and Sustainability Gains with Solar Panels

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) highlighted the significant impact of its 997-kilowatt solar panel system, installed by First Gen Energy Solutions (FGES) and Pi Energy, during a project site tour on March 7, 2025, attended by potential clients. The tour at the CLSU ICT Research and Development Training Center (CLIRDEC) building was led by Mr. Tim Galang, Customer Experience Officer of Pi Energy, providing an opportunity for other stakeholders to witness the project's success and its contribution to the university's sustainability efforts. Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, Vice President for Administration, thanked FGES for choosing CLSU as their partner State Universities and Colleges (SUC) in promoting sustainable energy. "This partnership has become a valuable benchmark for other SUCs, our students are also becoming more aware of the importance of utilizing solar energy,” said Dr. Mactal. Meanwhile, a detailed presentation by Ms. Tanya Flores-Rodil and Mr. Gelo Ramos explained the various types of solar panels and their benefits. While Engr. Renato Dela Cruz, Chief of Electrical and Telephone Services of Physical Plant and Site Development (PPSDS) highlighted the significant financial impact of the solar panels, revealing that CLSU has saved approximately 3.8 million pesos annually in electricity costs. “Bukod sa sobrang laki ng natitipid ng CLSU pag dating sapagbabayad ng kuryente, nakaka tulong pa tayo sa kalikasan at nagiging compliant tayo sa Department of Energy” stated Engr. Renato Dela Cruz, emphasizing the solar panels' contribution to both financial savings and regulatory compliance. FGES representative concluded the meeting by expressing their commitment to strengthening and expanding their collaboration with CLSU. CHEd Grants COPC to 5 CLSU Programs

To align its programs with industry demands and national and international education standards, CLSU underwent a rigorous evaluation process by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for five of its academic programs. As a result, the university successfully earned the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC), affirming its commitment to quality education and excellence. CLSU has been awarded the COPC for five academic programs: the Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering from the College of Engineering (CEn), as well as the Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, Master of Arts in Literature, Master of Science in Rural Development, and Doctor of Philosophy in Rural Development from the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS). The attainment of COPC for each program affirms that all programs satisfy CHEd's policies, standards, and guidelines, highlighting the exceptional teamwork, dedication, and perseverance exhibited by the University. #QualityEducation #SDG4 #SievingForExcellence
