CLSU kicks off National Arts Month 2025 Celebration
Central Luzon State University (CLSU) kicked off the monthlong celebration of National Arts Month 2025 with the theme “Ani ng Sining: Diwa at Damdamin”, on February 5. The ceremonial opening featured several performing arts from Bithay Sining Dance Company, Tanghalang Gagalaw sa CLSU (Tanglaw-CLSU), and the CLSU Maestro Singers, showcasing the rich and unique Philippine culture The performances highlighted the nation’s diverse heritage and the role of artistic expression in preserving cultural identity. In his opening remarks, University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella emphasized the importance and embeddedness of the arts in every aspect of life and how the arts can serve as a powerful platform for self-expression. Served as the guest speaker, Atty. Jose Manuel “Chel” Diokno, Chairman of Free Legal Assistance Group expressed his appreciation to CLSU for valuing and cultivating arts. He highlighted how important art is in nation-building as creativity and expression go hand-in-hand. Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco concluded the program by reiterating that the University’s celebration of National Arts Month is one of the manifestations of patriotism. The celebration is spearheaded by the College of Arts and Sciences (CASS), Cultural Affairs Office (CAO), and CASS Student Government.
