CLSU Receives CHED-EQUATE Awards for Excellence in Teacher Education

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its College of Education (CEd), has been honored by the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) with the prestigious Excellence in Quality Assurance in Teacher Education (EQUATE) Award for both its Secondary and Elementary Education programs. This recognition earned CLSU the Dual Honor Award, which was formally conferred during a ceremony held on April 2, 2025, at the Manila Hotel. Dr. Florante P. Ibarra, College of Education Dean, representing University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, received the EQUATE Awards. Other CLSU delegates during the recognition program were Dr. Myla L. Santos, Department of Language, Culture, and Arts Education (DLCAED) Head, Dr. Jennifer V. Fajanela, Department of Education, Policy, and Practice (DEPP) Head, and Dr. Ma. Catalina D. Cadiz, Department of Technology, Livelihood, and Life Skills Education (DTLLSED) Head and CLSU Laboratory for Teaching and Learning (CLTL) Head. This award solidifies CLSU’s unwavering commitment to sustaining the highest standards in pre-service teacher education, its compliance with program accreditations, and its outstanding performance in the Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT), which further attests to the University’s adherence to both national and international standards, reaffirming CLSU’s dedication to sustaining excellence and producing highly competent future educators. This recognition strengthens CLSU’s reputation as a premier institution for teacher education, showcasing its unwavering commitment to providing high-quality, inclusive, and relevant teacher training. It also reinforces the university’s overarching vision of ensuring quality education for all. CLSU Joins CHED in Anniversary Celebration, Secures 5M Pesos Project Grant

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) joined the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in celebrating the culmination event of its 32nd anniversary on June 10, 2026, held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), which brought together leaders from key academic institutions, government agencies, and industry stakeholders. Representing University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, Dr. Parsons N. Hail, Director of the International Affairs Office, attended the event and formally received the CHED Higher Education Development Fund (HEDF) Project Grant worth P5 million. CLSU is among the State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) selected as beneficiaries of the grant, which aims to support institutional development and strengthen higher education initiatives. The said event highlighted major reforms, expanding scholarship opportunities, and forging strategic partnerships aimed at addressing workforce gaps, strengthening student welfare, and enhancing the global competitiveness of Philippine higher education, as shared by the CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, during the State of Higher Education Address. Under the ACHIEVE Agenda of Chair Agrupis, she emphasized the significant role of HEIs and their partners in the realization of its plans and objectives for Higher Education, which includes: (A) ADVANCED AND ACCESSIBLE LIFELONG LEARNING, (C) CENTRALIZED ONE-NATION HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN; (H) HARMONIZED SDG-BASED RESEARCH AND INNOVATION; (I) INTEGRATED REAL-TIME DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYTICS; (E) EXPANDED AND IMPACT-DRIVEN INTERNATIONALIZATION; (V) VITALIZED POLICIES, INTERNAL SYSTEMS, AND GOVERNANCE; and (E) EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT PUBLIC SERVICE. CLSU, as one of the reputable higher education institutions in the country and in Southeast Asia, continues to support the commission through leveraging the university’s initiatives and programs through academic and research programs, meaningful partnerships, and internationalization opportunities to its main stakeholders, the CLSU students, faculty, and staff.

CLSU Partners with Terra Solar Philippines Inc. for Agrivoltaic Innovation Project

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through the Center for Climate Change and Environmental Management (CCCEM) and Terra Solar Philippines Inc., forged a partnership on June 4, 2026, marking the beginning of a strategic collaboration aimed at advancing sustainable agriculture and renewable energy integration through the project titled “Assessment of Agrivoltaic Suitability and Crop Productivity Enhancement in the Solar Farms of Gapan City, Nueva Ecija.” The project, funded by Terra Solar Philippines Inc., seeks to evaluate the potential of agrivoltaic systems in optimizing land use by integrating solar energy production with agricultural activities. This initiative reflects the shared commitment of CLSU and Terra Solar Philippines Inc. in promoting innovation-driven solutions that address food security, renewable energy transition, and sustainable land management through research, science, and technology. Present during the ceremonial MOA signing were Dr. Gella Patria L. Abella, Director of CCCEM, and the President and Chief Executive Officer of Terra Solar Philippines Inc., Mr. Dennis B. Jordan, together with other key representatives from both institutions.

CBA CPALE Takers Surpass National Passing

Central Luzon State University, through the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA), achieved a 48.65% institutional passing rate in the May 2026 Certified Public Accountants Licensure Examination (CPALE) administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). This feat easily surpassed the national passing rate of 30.83%, welcoming 18 newly licensed accountants, composed of 13 first-time takers (44.83%) and 5 retakers (62.50%). The University extends its congratulations to our 'Golden Grains.' Your unwavering dedication, discipline, and hard work have officially paid off. To those who fell short this time, please remember that this examination does not define your capabilities or your future.
