CLSU SENDS 2, RECEIVES 9 SEA TEACHER BATCH 6 PARTICIPANTS

Two student-teachers of the College of Education of Central Luzon State University (CEd-CLSU) joined the 6th Batch of Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia (SEA Teacher Project) last August 5 to September 4, 2018. Annaliza Samson and Janella Sanglay, both Bachelor of Secondary Education students major in English, completed the exchange program at Ganesha University of Education (UNDIKSHA), Bali, Indonesia as part of the SEA Teacher Project. The SEA Teacher Project aims to provide opportunity for pre-service student teachers from universities in Southeast Asia. Also, it enables the students to develop their teaching skills and pedagogy, as well as, to encourage the students to practice their English skills and to allow the students to gain a broader regional and global perspective In exchange, nine Indonesian student-teachers were also deployed at the Central Luzon State University Science High School (CLSU-SHS). They were Rangga Krisna Saputra, Putu Nita Handayani, Made Agus Mandala Putra from Ganesha University of Education (UNDIKSHA), Muhammad Iqra, Nur Fajr Az’zahra, Farwa Angraini Apok, from Universitas Tadulako (UNTAD), Restu Winarsih II and Ariza Safira  from Universitas Tanjungpura (UNTAN), and Zaenun Fauzziah from STKIP Muhammadiyah Bogor. “SEA Teacher is an opportunity for our student-teachers to gain multi-cultural experience in teaching. College of Education hopes to increase the number of students who will be sent for Batch 7.”, said Dr. Regidor G. Gaboy, CEd dean and coordinator to SEA Teacher. Participants held their practicum at the CLSU Science High School.

CVSM Dominates National Mikrobyong Mikrobyo Quiz Contest at UPLB

The College of Veterinary Science and Medicine (CVSM) once again proved it is a powerhouse in veterinary education by bagging the championship title in the recently concluded 2nd National Mikrobyong Mikrobyo Quiz Contest held on March 21, 2026, at the University of the Philippines Los Baños, Laguna. Outshining the 17 competing teams, CLSU dominated the leaderboards, with both of its representative teams finishing in the top five. The first team of CLSU, composed of Allen Dave B. Serrano, Hannah Angela P. Lacsina, and Anne J. Muncal, was declared the champions. In contrast, the team of Verna Antoinette P. Luis, Lance Josef E. Landagan, and Renato S. Alombro, Jr. clinched the 4th Place. Both teams were also recognized as Best in Microbiology for their performances in the said competition. The teams were coached by the dedicated faculty members of the college such as Dr. Joyce Abigail F. Soriano and Dr. Joseph Adrian T. Dela Cruz. The event was organized by the University of the Philippines Society for the Advancement of Veterinary Education and Research (UP SAVER).

BSIT Students Secure Multiple Awards at IRCITE 2026

The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students under the College of Engineering (CEn) showcased their brilliance and creativity as they won multiple awards during the International Research Conference on Information Technology Education (IRCITE) 2026, held on March 19, 2026, at Bulacan State University in Malolos City, Bulacan. Bringing together delegates from various State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) across the region, IRCITE 2026 served as a dynamic platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation in the field of information technology. The CLSU team secured 1st Runner-Up in AI Video Content Creation, represented by Angelo James Soria and Damianne Alistair Pakkal; 2nd Runner-Up in Technical Writing, achieved by Shaira Matta; and 1st Runner-Up in Call of Duty: Battle Royale, represented by Marionne Jadde Pascual, Shandenz Cedric Felipe, Aaron John De Mesa, and Lance Andre Lazo. Additional commendations were earned by Marc Nelson Driza, who placed 4th in the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) category and qualified for the Microsoft Office Specialist Excel Associate Certification. Meanwhile, Jenard Daquiz and Maruine Jei Paguio were recognized as Top 5 finalists in the AI Image Content Creation competition. Beyond competition, the experience provided valuable exposure to current industry practices and emerging technologies. Students were able to deepen their understanding of artificial intelligence while strengthening essential skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and innovation—further bridging the gap between academic learning and practical application.

CLSU Hybrid Rice Harvest Festival Showcases Innovation, High-Yielding Varieties

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) through the University Business Affairs Program (UBAP) gathered farmers, students, and agricultural partners for the Hybrid Rice Harvest Festival held today, March 18, at the field demonstration site and Multi-purpose Gymnasium (MPG). The Festival served as a strategic bridge between the academe and the farming community, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. Led by Dr. Karenina B. Romualdo, Vice President for Business Affairs, and Assoc. Prof. Jaypee Estigoy, Director for Crop Production, alongside Dr. Ace Mugssy Agustin and Mr. Francis Mina as rice module project managers, the event highlighted high-performing hybrid rice varieties for local farmers and students. It showcased the results of this year’s competitive planting models, providing data-driven insights and practical benchmarks to guide local growers in optimizing productivity and decision-making. In his message, University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella reaffirmed CLSU’s steadfast commitment to spearheading agricultural advancement through research and innovation. Strengthening this vision, the program featured a lineup of agricultural leaders who shared regional insights, including Dr. Joice San Andres, Director for Animal Production, representing VP Romualdo, Mr. Christian Ramos, Regional SEED Coordinator, DA-RFO III, Mr. Leonel Parugrug, City Agricultural Office of Muñoz, and Dr. Jovita B. Agliam from the Provincial Agriculture Office. The derby was supported by the attendance and participation of top seed companies and agricultural research institutions. Among those present were Enviro Scope Synergy Inc., Syngenta Philippines Inc., Bioseed Research Philippines, Inc., Pro Agri Seed Corp., Prasad Seeds Philippines Inc., Bayer CropScience, Inc., Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice), SL Agritech Corporation, SeedWorks Philippines Incorporated, Aljay Agro-Industrial Solutions Incorporated, Leads Agricultural Products Corporation, and Farmex Corporation.
