CLSU SENDS 2, RECEIVES 9 SEA TEACHER BATCH 6 PARTICIPANTS

Two student-teachers of the College of Education of Central Luzon State University (CEd-CLSU) joined the 6th Batch of Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia (SEA Teacher Project) last August 5 to September 4, 2018. Annaliza Samson and Janella Sanglay, both Bachelor of Secondary Education students major in English, completed the exchange program at Ganesha University of Education (UNDIKSHA), Bali, Indonesia as part of the SEA Teacher Project. The SEA Teacher Project aims to provide opportunity for pre-service student teachers from universities in Southeast Asia. Also, it enables the students to develop their teaching skills and pedagogy, as well as, to encourage the students to practice their English skills and to allow the students to gain a broader regional and global perspective In exchange, nine Indonesian student-teachers were also deployed at the Central Luzon State University Science High School (CLSU-SHS). They were Rangga Krisna Saputra, Putu Nita Handayani, Made Agus Mandala Putra from Ganesha University of Education (UNDIKSHA), Muhammad Iqra, Nur Fajr Az’zahra, Farwa Angraini Apok, from Universitas Tadulako (UNTAD), Restu Winarsih II and Ariza Safira  from Universitas Tanjungpura (UNTAN), and Zaenun Fauzziah from STKIP Muhammadiyah Bogor. “SEA Teacher is an opportunity for our student-teachers to gain multi-cultural experience in teaching. College of Education hopes to increase the number of students who will be sent for Batch 7.”, said Dr. Regidor G. Gaboy, CEd dean and coordinator to SEA Teacher. Participants held their practicum at the CLSU Science High School.

Sen. Hontiveros Joins Discussion on University Safe Spaces

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through the University Supreme Student Council (USSC) and the CLSU Paruparong Bukid Organization, hosted another series of the “Hue Belong: Inclusive Education for All” which promoted equality and a sense of belongingness within the academic community, held on March 30, 2026, at the FPJ Communication Hall. As the event’s guest of honor, Senator Risa Hontiveros, the primary author of the Safe Spaces Act, delivered a powerful message on the need to eliminate harassment in all environments. She emphasized that fostering an inclusive culture is not the duty of a few, but a collective obligation. “Lahat tayo ay responsible for providing safe spaces. Lahat tayo ay may papel dito. Sa paraan ng pakikinig natin, pagtrato sa isa’t isa. Kahit sa maliliit na bagay lang pwede tayong mag ambag… Ang pagpili na umintindi bago manghusga,” Sen. Hontiveros stated. She further stressed, “Kung gusto natin mag build ng inclusive education and safe spaces, we need to be intentional. Kailangan may conscious effort na gawing mas maayos, mas ligtas, at mas inclusive ang bawat espasyo, dahil ang inclusivity ay commitment.” One of the highlights of the event was the "couch session," which brought together diverse perspectives on community leadership and the policies and movements aimed at eliminating discrimination and harassment. Joining Sen. Hontiveros on the panel were Dr. Ravelina Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Hon. Baby Armi Alvarez, Mayor of the Science City of Muñoz; and Mx. Chloe Castillo, Head of the CLSU Paruparong Bukid Organization. The discussion further underscored the importance of speaking up, seeking help, and institutionalizing protections for student well-being. This ensures that "inclusive education" translates into tangible safe spaces for the LGBTQ+ community and the wider student body. The forum concluded with a meet-and-greet session, allowing representatives from various student organizations, the university administration, and other groups across Nueva Ecija to raise their concerns and present their advocacies directly to the senator. #SievingForExcellence #SafeSpaces

CHSI-DHTM Earns Regional Recognition for Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) recently cemented its position as a leading institution in hospitality education, with its Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management (DHTM) under the College of Home Science and Industry (CHSI) being named 1st Runner-Up for the Most Outstanding Academic Institution for Tourism and Hospitality in Central Luzon, awarded by the Department of Tourism - Region III. OSA Hosts 'Ginhawa' Pod Session to Promote Inclusive Mental Health Advocacy

As part of the celebration of Guidance Awareness Month and to foster a more inclusive environment in the digital era, the Central Luzon State University (CLSU) - Office of Student Affairs (OSA) conducted the “Ginhawa Stand-Up Pod Session: Strengthening Mental Health Rights for All Genders in the Digital Age” at the CLSU Auditorium on March 26, 2026. The session featured Dr. Sheila Marie G. Hocson, a Registered Psychometrician, Guidance Counselor, and Psychologist from Far Eastern University, and Dr. John Mark S. Distor, a Registered Psychometrician from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. Serving as resource speakers, they encouraged students to remain mindful of their well-being amid the constant noise of the digital age. Both experts emphasized that creating spaces for open dialogue and shared reflection is not only possible but essential for modern student life. More than just an informational event, the session reinforced the message that every individual’s story and mental health matter. The initiative underscored the university’s goal of creating safe, empowering spaces where students can express themselves freely and build meaningful connections.
