CLSU SENDS 2, RECEIVES 9 SEA TEACHER BATCH 6 PARTICIPANTS

Two student-teachers of the College of Education of Central Luzon State University (CEd-CLSU) joined the 6th Batch of Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia (SEA Teacher Project) last August 5 to September 4, 2018. Annaliza Samson and Janella Sanglay, both Bachelor of Secondary Education students major in English, completed the exchange program at Ganesha University of Education (UNDIKSHA), Bali, Indonesia as part of the SEA Teacher Project. The SEA Teacher Project aims to provide opportunity for pre-service student teachers from universities in Southeast Asia. Also, it enables the students to develop their teaching skills and pedagogy, as well as, to encourage the students to practice their English skills and to allow the students to gain a broader regional and global perspective In exchange, nine Indonesian student-teachers were also deployed at the Central Luzon State University Science High School (CLSU-SHS). They were Rangga Krisna Saputra, Putu Nita Handayani, Made Agus Mandala Putra from Ganesha University of Education (UNDIKSHA), Muhammad Iqra, Nur Fajr Az’zahra, Farwa Angraini Apok, from Universitas Tadulako (UNTAD), Restu Winarsih II and Ariza Safira  from Universitas Tanjungpura (UNTAN), and Zaenun Fauzziah from STKIP Muhammadiyah Bogor. “SEA Teacher is an opportunity for our student-teachers to gain multi-cultural experience in teaching. College of Education hopes to increase the number of students who will be sent for Batch 7.”, said Dr. Regidor G. Gaboy, CEd dean and coordinator to SEA Teacher. Participants held their practicum at the CLSU Science High School.

CLSU Elects New Sectoral Leaders to Strengthen Employee Welfare and Professional Growth

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has elected new leaders for its major sectoral associations this year. Each plays a crucial role in representing the interests and welfare of the university's diverse community. The newly elected presidents will oversee their associations and lead initiatives to support faculty, staff, and allied services employees. Mr. Ryan B. Esteban is the new President of the Allied Services Employees Association (ASEA) as elected last March 3, 2025. ASEA is a vital association that contributes and supports the welfare and professional growth of CLSU's allied services employees. The association is committed to developing and implementing programs and projects designed to enhance and upgrade the status of its members. Assoc. Prof. Jeorge M. Dela Cruz is the new President of the Faculty Association Incorporated (FAI) who won in the election held last September 10, 2025. The FAI serves as a critical forum for discussing and addressing current issues affecting the welfare of all faculty members in relation to the university administration. It also provides policy directions and tackles issues that will benefit its members. The FAI President also serves as a member of the Board of Regents after taking an oath before them. Dr. Virgilio D. Viernes Jr. has been elected President of the CLSU Labor Union of Teachers and Employees (CLUTCHES) last August 29, 2025. This Union is responsible for ensuring full protection to its members, recognizing the rights of teachers and other employees to self-organization, collective bargaining, and security of tenure. CLUTCHES's mission is to ensure just and humane conditions of work for its members. These new sectoral leaders, who will serve for two years, are expected to work closely with the university administration to ensure a productive and supportive environment for all members of the CLSU community. #SievingForExcellence

CTEC Kicks Off its Career Caravan in Guimba, NE

Following the official opening of the College Admission Test (CAT) application period, the Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Testing and Evaluation Center (CTEC), officially kicked off its 2025 Career Caravan dubbed as LIPAD (Learn & Live your Interests, Passions, Ambitions, and Dreams) today, September 12 at the Bartolome Sangalang National High School (BSNHS) in Guimba, Nueva Ecija. Faculty members from the College of Arts and Social Sciences, who introduced their undergraduate programs, and the Office of Student Affairs, which facilitated career planning sessions, joined the CTEC in this initiative. The event concluded with the launching of the Mobile CLSU-CAT Online Application, which allowed BSNHS senior high school students to begin their application process onsite, providing a convenient and concrete first step toward their academic future at the university. The LIPAD" Career Caravan is a series of events in different high schools that aims to help students make informed decisions about academic and career choices by focusing on their individual strengths and interests. It further emphasises the importance of aligning academic paths with personal passions, skills, and long-term professional goals. Through this initiative, CLSU reaffirms its commitment to guiding and empowering young learners, helping them to soar toward their dream course.

CLSU Strengthens Community Outreach Efforts in NE with New Partnerships

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) is enhancing its commitment to community outreach by establishing new partnerships. On September 9, 2025, the University signed several Memoranda of Agreement (MOAs) to bring its research-backed technologies and expertise to more communities in Nueva Ecija. The first MOA was signed between the University Extension Program Office (UEPO) and the Local Government Units (LGUs) of Nampicuan and Talugtug. Led by Dr. Emmanuel M. Vera Cruz, Vice President for Research and Extension, and Dr. Aldrin E. Badua, Director of the UEPO, along with the respective mayors, Hon. Mario G. Lacurom of Nampicuan and Hon. Pacifico B. Monta of Talugtug. This agreement aims to establish "techno-hubs" in these municipalities where farmers can adopt technologies developed by CLSU. Additionally, the Municipality of Nampicuan has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the UEPO to access other services, including training related to agriculture and various other fields. The second MOA was signed between the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS), led by their Dean, Dr. Jay C. Santos, and the Municipality of Talugtug, represented by Mayor Monta. This agreement focuses on the project "Community Engagement: Social Capacity Building, Civic and Gender Awareness, and Cultural Mapping," aiming to utilize CLSU's expertise to tackle key social and economic challenges in the area. The series of signing ceremonies was led by Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, University President, along with key representatives and witnesses from CLSU and the partner Local Government Units (LGUs) that highlighted the significance and potential impact of the new partnerships.
