CLSU successfully hosts the 24th MSP Annual Scientific Meeting & Blended Symposium

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) thru the Department of Biological Sciences and Center for Tropical Mushroom Research and Development (CTMRD) under the College of Science (COS) successfully hosted the 24th Annual Scientific Meeting and 1st Blended Symposium of the Mycological Society of the Philippines (MSP) with the theme “Emerging Trends in Mycology for Gen α”, last June 23, 2023 at the College of Education Teachers’ Hall.   In her opening message, Dr. Angeles M. De Leon, COS Acting Dean and MSP President highlighted that the symposium was dedicated to the Generation Alpha because their exposure to digital education and research entails them to impart consequential contributions to the society in the future. Dr. De Leon also reminded the participants that the responsibility of educating today’s youth lies in their hands as academicians and researchers.   Keynote and plenary speakers from Japan, Ukraine and the Philippines shared their expertise on mycological research during the blended activity which accommodated more than 100 on-site and online participants.   Prof. Atsushi Ishihara, faculty of Agriculture in the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences, Tottori University, Japan served as the keynote speaker while his advisee Mr. Tomoyo Tanaka, a graduate student in the Graduate School of Sustainability Science, Tottori University, delivered his lecture during the event.   The MSP also awarded citations for the Tricita H. Quimio (THQ) Best Undergraduate Research which was won by De La Salle University delegates, while the Professional Competing Paper and Best Poster Presentations were bagged by UST delegates, respectively.   Meanwhile, Ms. Angie Lynne G. Salonga, a graduating BS Biology student majoring in Zoology in CLSU, bagged the 3rd Best Poster Presentation for her undergraduate research on "Teratogenicity of Ganoderma applanatum" collected from Mt. 387, Carranglan, Nueva Ecija."   CLSU officials, faculty and staff led by Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, VP for Administration and Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, VP for Academic Affairs were also present and attended the symposium which ended with the organization’s business meeting.

CLSU Celebrates Monthlong CSC Anniversary

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) proudly joined in the nationwide celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service Commission (CSC), showcasing its commitment to excellence in public service. Throughout September, the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) organized a series of activities for employees designed to foster camaraderie, strengthen professional skills, and promote holistic well-being among its staff. These events include a diverse lineup, featuring Fun Run, Wellness Day, and Sportsfest, which promote health and community spirit, while Customer Relations Management Training sharpens professional skills. The University also facilitated Philsys National ID Registration and a vital Bloodletting Activity, underscoring its dedication to both its staff and the wider community.

CLSU Receives Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity Award

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Financial Management Services led by Dir. Jinky Parugrug, has been honored with the "Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity" Award for the second consecutive time. The recognition was conferred during the Government Financial Management Innovations Circle, Inc.'s (GFMIC) 16th Annual National Convention, held on September 25, 2025, in Tagbilaran, Bohol. This accolade underscores CLSU's exemplary utilization of the Electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS). The eNGAS is a critical software solution designed to modernize government accounting, ensuring all financial transactions are processed with accuracy, reliability, completeness, and timeliness. CLSU stands out among academic institutions, being one of only three universities nationwide, alongside Tarlac State University and Bukidnon State University, to receive this distinction. Other awardees were drawn from National Government Agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs). The award was formally accepted by Mr. John Mark Tangonan, head of the Accounting Office, together with staff from both the Accounting and Budget Office. This achievement serves as a significant affirmation of CLSU's strong commitment to digitalization and its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy in financial reporting.
