The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) honored the graduating class of 2023 by holding the Tea Party and Recognition Program today, July 12 at the Dr. Pedro A. Abella Graduation Site.
Among the awardees are two Summa Cum Laude, 125 Magna Cum Laude, 953 Cum Laude, 22 with honors, and 48 graduands with special awards. Also included in the roll of awardees are the recipients of the Most Outstanding Student, Campus Journalism, Best Thesis, Cultural, Athletic and Loyalty Award.
Briefly disrupted by heavy rain, the program continued with the message of Dr. Edgar A. Orden, CLSU President who praised all the graduates who braved and stayed despite the rain. He also reminded the graduands to bring honor to CLSU as they will always carry the name of the university in the industry.
“I know you will greatly represent our university and will contribute to our goal of providing excellent service to humanity,” said Dr. Orden.
After his speech, ten special medals for Academic Excellence sponsored by Senator Imee R. Marcos were given to the highest academic achievers of each college.
For the response, Gerome B. Jacinto who will graduate as Summa Cum Laude delivered his valedictory address wherein he inspired his fellow graduating students to be a proud product of CLSU. He also acknowledged the sacrifices of his parents in fighting for the realization of his dream.
“As CLSU graduates, we have the capability to succeed, we can withstand any challenge, and success is within our reach precisely because we are products of CLSU. In the midst of success, always remember that our actions will define what a CLSU graduate is,” Jacinto narrated.
