CLSU Joins in National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

To reinforce campus-wide disaster preparedness and evaluate emergency response, the Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through the University Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (UDRRMC), actively participated in the 2nd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) today, June 18. The drill began with the synchronized sounding of sirens, prompting students, faculty, and staff across all colleges and offices to execute the standard "Duck, Cover, and Hold" protocol before systematically evacuating to designated evacuation areas. To assess the capabilities of the university's emergency responders, the College of Education (CEd) was designated as the primary Command Center, wherein casualty simulation exercises were conducted. The event aimed to ensure that the entire CLSU community remains adaptive and resilient in the face of natural disasters, especially now that a series of earthquakes has occurred in different parts of the country. #SievingForExcellence

62nd Universityhood

Sixty-two years ago today, the Central Luzon Agricultural College (CLAC) was transformed into Central Luzon State University (CLSU) through Republic Act No. 4067, a defining moment in our history that elevated a humble farm school into a premier institution of higher learning. Here's a special message from University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella as we commemorate this historical milestone: “As we celebrate the 62nd Universityhood Anniversary of CLSU, we honor a legacy built on excellence, innovation, and service. For more than six decades, CLSU has transformed lives, empowered communities, and contributed to nation-building through education and research. Today, as we embrace new opportunities and developments, we look forward to a future of greater impact and wider horizons. Yet amid this growth and transformation, one thing remains unchanged: our students continue to be the heart and soul of the university. Sa bawat programang inilulunsad, pasilidad na itinatayo, at hakbang tungo sa kaunlaran, ang kapakanan at tagumpay ng ating mga estudyante ang nananatiling sentro ng ating misyon. Sila ang inspirasyon sa likod ng ating mga pangarap para sa isang mas mahusay at mas makabuluhang CLSU. Together, let us celebrate our past, embrace our future, and continue soaring to greater heights, guided by our legacy and driven by our commitment to every Sielesyuan. Happy 62nd Universityhood Anniversary, CLSU

CLSU, DA-BAI Strengthen Partnership for Animal Vaccine Development Program

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), in partnership with the Department of Agriculture–Bureau of Animal Industry (DA-BAI), officially launched the Animal Vaccine Development Program through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and unveiling of a marker on June 15, 2026, at the Center for Transboundary Animal Diseases (CenTrAD) in CLSU. As the lead proponent of the initiative, CLSU, through CenTrAD, will spearhead R&D efforts to produce safe, effective, and locally responsive vaccines against animal diseases that threaten livestock health and agricultural productivity in the country. The program forms part of the government’s broader strategy to strengthen animal health systems and enhance the competitiveness of the livestock sector by developing vaccines tailored to local disease strains. Present during the MOA signing were DA Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr.; DA Undersecretary for Livestock Dr. Constante Palabrica; Dr. Christian Daguitan, Officer-in-Charge Director of DA-BAI; Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, CLSU President; Dr. Virginia Venturina, Director of CenTrAD; Dr. Claro Mingala, National Livestock Program Director; and Dr. Liza G. Battad, Executive Director of DA-PCC. In his inspiring message, DA Secretary Laurel said that, after a year since its launching, the program has finally come to fruition. Through this initiative, he expressed hope that disease prevention strategies would be strengthened and that sustainable livestock production would be promoted through research and development. The program underscores CLSU’s continuing role as a leading institution in veterinary research and innovation, advancing science-based solutions that contribute to animal health, food security, and sustainable agricultural development in the Philippines. #SievingForExcellence
