Central Luzon State University is conducting a Forum on Unleashing Innovation in Modernizing the Agriculture Sector to create awareness and understanding on how technological innovations could help modernize agriculture and charting agricultural roadmap for a brighter future.
Dr. William D. Dar, the newly appointed Agriculture Secretary, is the Keynote Speaker, while other government officials and technical experts will lead the discussion and sharing of insights on topics with regards to rice, mechanization, fisheries, and animal industry, among others.
This one-day activity on August 29, 2019 at the CLSU RET Amphitheater serves as a platform to share information and technological innovation/ideas prevailing and pressing concerns based on research and development outputs.
CLSU President, Dr. Tereso A. Abella said that the forum is very timely as the country faces growing concerns on ensuring food security amid the increasing demand from an expanding population.
Stakeholders present during the forum can give their reactions on the topics presented. Such reactions will be noted as important inputs in the crafting of policies and strategies for promoting the region’s agricultural growth and inclusive development.
A total of 200 participants are expected to attend the forum which include farmers, women, cooperative members/officers, LGU heads/representatives, extension workers, faculty-researchers, representatives from SUCs and R and D institutions, private sector representatives, and rice traders.
The forum is organized thorough the leadership of Pres. Abella, Dr. Fe L. Porciuncula, CLSU Vice President for Research, Extension and Training and CLAARRDEC Director; Dr. Jocelyn L. Aveno CLSU Training Director, in cooperation with the CLSU Gender and Development Office, National Economic and Development Authority Region III, and Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office III.
