CVSM, CAg Students Shine at the 2024 Agri-Youth Congress

Students from Central Luzon State University (CLSU) showcased their excellence at the 2024 Agri-Youth Congress held today, October 24, in Lipa City, Batangas. The College of Veterinary Science and Medicine (CVSM) team secured second place in the agriculture quiz bee, while the College of Agriculture (CAg) team earned third place. Additionally, CAg students achieved further success by clinching third place in the research paper presentation. The CVSM team, composed of Allen Serrano, Alesandra Antonino, and Krisha Del Rosario and coached by Dr. Lenard Valdez, brought home second place in the Agri-Quiz Bee after a challenging tie-breaker round with Benguet State University. Meanwhile, the CAg team composed of Marc Gabrielle Sabino, Marc Ronald Salacsacan, and Raiven Ace Abella, secured third place, further showcasing their agricultural expertise. At the same event, CAg students Ray Allen De Guzman, Arjan Chyler Manansala, and Danica Grace Claudio, led by Mr. Kier Santiago, earned third place for their study titled “Expected Progeny Difference as a Selection and Breeding Tool in Improving Growth Traits of Central Luzon (CL) Native Pig,” in the Agri-Research Colloquium. This event was organized by the International Training Center on Pig Husbandry to engage and empower young individuals in the agriculture sector by providing a platform for knowledge sharing, skill development, and collaboration.

The recent typhoon brought challenges to Central Luzon State University, leaving visible signs of its impact across the campus. CED's Golden Fighting Lynx Secures Back-to-Back Championship; CAg’s Mighty Aggies and CASS’ Flaming Cheetahs Claim 2nd and 3rd Places

The College of Education (CEd) “Golden Fighting Lynx” emerged victorious once again, claiming the championship title at this year’s University Intramural Games. The Multipurpose Gym was a sea of yellow as CEd celebrated its back-to-back triumph, amassing a total of 121 gold, 53 silver, and 71 bronze medals. Following closely, the College of Agriculture’s (CAg) “Mighty Aggies” secured a strong second place, while the College of Arts and Social Sciences’ (CASS) “Flaming Cheetahs” climbed impressively to capture the third spot. Here’s the official standing of the different colleges: Champion - Golden Fighting Lynx (CEd) 2nd place - Mighty Aggies (CAg) 3rd place - Flaming Cheetahs (CASS) 4th place - Unbreakable Antlers (CVSM) 5th place - Fearless Eagles (CoS) 6th place - Raging Dragons (CEn) 7th place - Blazing Phoenix (CHSI) 8th place - Blue Chips (CBA) 9th place - Red Spines (CF) The awarding ceremony took place immediately after the games concluded, with the final and official results from the Sports Development Office announced at 12:04 PM today, November 16. University President Evaristo A. Abella, along with the Sports Development Council chaired by Vice President for Academic Affairs Ravelina R. Velasco and University Supreme Student Council Chair Dharcel B. Parungao, presented the trophies to the winners.
