CVSM, CAg Students Shine at the 2024 Agri-Youth Congress

Students from Central Luzon State University (CLSU) showcased their excellence at the 2024 Agri-Youth Congress held today, October 24, in Lipa City, Batangas. The College of Veterinary Science and Medicine (CVSM) team secured second place in the agriculture quiz bee, while the College of Agriculture (CAg) team earned third place. Additionally, CAg students achieved further success by clinching third place in the research paper presentation. The CVSM team, composed of Allen Serrano, Alesandra Antonino, and Krisha Del Rosario and coached by Dr. Lenard Valdez, brought home second place in the Agri-Quiz Bee after a challenging tie-breaker round with Benguet State University. Meanwhile, the CAg team composed of Marc Gabrielle Sabino, Marc Ronald Salacsacan, and Raiven Ace Abella, secured third place, further showcasing their agricultural expertise. At the same event, CAg students Ray Allen De Guzman, Arjan Chyler Manansala, and Danica Grace Claudio, led by Mr. Kier Santiago, earned third place for their study titled “Expected Progeny Difference as a Selection and Breeding Tool in Improving Growth Traits of Central Luzon (CL) Native Pig,” in the Agri-Research Colloquium. This event was organized by the International Training Center on Pig Husbandry to engage and empower young individuals in the agriculture sector by providing a platform for knowledge sharing, skill development, and collaboration.

CLSU Wins Gold at 2025 National Research Symposium for Best R&D Paper Award

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has won the prestigious Best R&D Paper (Gold Award) for its important study, "Cultivating Evidence, Shaping Policy: An Impact Assessment of BAR-Funded Organic Agriculture RDE Centers in the Philippines," during the 2025 National Research Symposium of the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Agricultural Research, under the Policy and Socioeconomic Category, held at the National Food Authority (NFA) Multipurpose Hall, Quezon City, from October 8-9, 2025. On October 8, nine research papers were presented in various categories out of 85 submissions. Key officials from various DA regional offices and attached agencies, bureaus, corporations, and state universities and colleges all over the country attended the event. The CLSU’s winning paper was authored by a large team of researchers: Dr. Jeannie-Rose G. Fabula, Dr. Maria Excelsis M. Orden, Ms. Maria Celia M. Fernando, Dr. Maria Luisa T. Mason, Mr. Herald Kam G. Hernando, Mr. Rovel S. Melegrito, Mr. Meynard C. Madria, Mr. Ken P. Gaspar, and Ms. Jesusa B. Tangonan. This achievement emphasizes CLSU's consistent excellence in agricultural and policy-relevant research, reinforcing its position as a leading institution in advancing sustainable Philippine agriculture.

CLSU Bithay Sining Dance Company Bags Gold at the 2025 World Mask Dance Competition in South Korea

The CLSU Bithay Sining Dance Company, one of the cultural groups in the university achieved a remarkable feat on the global stage by winning the Gold Prize under the group category (International Division) during the 2025 Andong Mask Dance Festival and World Mask Play Competition, held from September 25 to October 6, 2025, in Andong, South Korea. Under the artistic direction of Associate Professor Adonis Voltaire M. Villanueva, CLSU Bithay Sining Dance Company impressed both the audience and judges with its award-winning performance. It highlighted the artistry, discipline, and cultural depth of Filipino dance by combining tradition and innovation. The choreography showcased Philippine heritage through dynamic movements, vibrant costumes, and storytelling. The CLSU Bithay Sining Dance Company’s success at the World Mask Dance Competition solidifies the university's increasing global visibility and impact in the performing arts. #SievingForExcellence

CLSU Celebrates Monthlong CSC Anniversary

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) proudly joined in the nationwide celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service Commission (CSC), showcasing its commitment to excellence in public service. Throughout September, the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) organized a series of activities for employees designed to foster camaraderie, strengthen professional skills, and promote holistic well-being among its staff. These events include a diverse lineup, featuring Fun Run, Wellness Day, and Sportsfest, which promote health and community spirit, while Customer Relations Management Training sharpens professional skills. The University also facilitated Philsys National ID Registration and a vital Bloodletting Activity, underscoring its dedication to both its staff and the wider community.
