ICCEM Soft-Launches Student-Developed Plastic Sorting Machine

The Institute for Climate Change and Environmental Management (ICCEM), in partnership with the Department of Information Technology, ASKI Foundation, and Coca-Cola, soft-launched a new Plastic Sorting Machine, to help manage waste on campus. This was held on March 12, 2025, at the OVPAA Amphitheater as part of the weeklong anniversary celebration of ICCEM. Three ICCEM interns namely, Mr. Leusam Jay G. Jimenez, Mr. Erroyd Kevin G. Tolentino, and Mr. Jay Raizen M. Musngi from the Department of Information Technology, under the guidance of their adviser, Asst.Prof. Marycris A. Manalang, developed an innovative sorter equipped with a specialized system capable of categorizing polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles into five classifications - Clean, Not Clean, Good Plastic, Blue, and Reject. The said machine will decrease the manpower required for the sorting of different plastic types, while also fostering environmental sustainability through encouraging students to practice responsible plastic waste disposal. University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella expressed his congratulatory words and gratitude to the interns and other people behind its success. He also emphasized the importance of learning the values of being a responsible community member. The event was also graced by university officials, including the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Vice President for Administration, Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, Vice President for Research and Extension, Dr. Emmanuel M. Dela Vera, Pollution Control Officer, Dr. Redel L. Gutierrez, and representatives from the Physical Plant and Site Development Services (PPSDS), all standing united in solidarity to mark a new and promising chapter in CLSU's ongoing environmental stewardship.

CLSU Celebrates Monthlong CSC Anniversary

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) proudly joined in the nationwide celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service Commission (CSC), showcasing its commitment to excellence in public service. Throughout September, the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) organized a series of activities for employees designed to foster camaraderie, strengthen professional skills, and promote holistic well-being among its staff. CLSU Receives Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity Award

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Financial Management Services led by Dir. Jinky Parugrug, has been honored with the "Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity" Award for the second consecutive time. The recognition was conferred during the Government Financial Management Innovations Circle, Inc.'s (GFMIC) 16th Annual National Convention, held on September 25, 2025, in Tagbilaran, Bohol. This accolade underscores CLSU's exemplary utilization of the Electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS). The eNGAS is a critical software solution designed to modernize government accounting, ensuring all financial transactions are processed with accuracy, reliability, completeness, and timeliness. CLSU stands out among academic institutions, being one of only three universities nationwide, alongside Tarlac State University and Bukidnon State University, to receive this distinction. Other awardees were drawn from National Government Agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs). The award was formally accepted by Mr. John Mark Tangonan, head of the Accounting Office, together with staff from both the Accounting and Budget Office. This achievement serves as a significant affirmation of CLSU's strong commitment to digitalization and its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy in financial reporting.
