OVPAA, Council of Deans Launch “Beat the Heat: Fans for a Cause”

In response to rising temperatures, the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA) and the Council of Deans have launched ‘Beat The Heat: Fans for a Cause’. The initiative kicked off with a ceremonial distribution of electric fans at the Academic Affairs Amphitheater on May 6, 2024. These electric fans, intended to provide immediate ventilation, were distributed to alleviate the effects of the scorching heat. Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs, stressed the importance of the initiative, emphasizing its effectiveness in easing discomfort in classrooms or other educational settings while improvements are underway. She noted that the fans from the Beat The Heat initiative will be strategically placed in classrooms for the benefit of students. Dominic Fajardo, representing the student body, expressed his appreciation for the project meanwhile the second phase of ‘Beat the Heat’ is planned as efforts continue to address the rising temperatures.

The student-athletes of Central Luzon State University (CLSU) showcased their venomous competitive spirit during the opening ceremony of the State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) Region III Olympics, held on February 22, 2026, at the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) Sumacab Campus, Cabanatuan City. Marching with formidable pride and honor, the 255-strong CLSU Green Cobras embodied the discipline, sportsmanship, and commitment cultivated through months of rigorous training. Joined by more than 200 coaches, trainers, officials, and backliners, the delegation’s strong presence signaled a clear intent to secure a podium finish in this year’s regional meet. Maegan Ashley V. Mudlong, Green Cobras softball player, vowed that her team would leave everything on the field. “Gagawin po namin ang aming makakaya, ibibigay namin ang best namin hanggang makuha namin ang gold,” she shared. Showing his unwavering support, CLSU President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella joined the athletes during the parade together with Vice President for Administration, Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, and Head of SDO, Assoc. Prof. John Agaton. Their presence significantly boosted the morale of the players, who are now more determined than ever to fight for the podium. The highly anticipated regional conclave features top-tier athletes from various state universities and colleges (SUCs) across Central Luzon. CLSU Enhances Operations with New Utility Vehicles and Farm Tractors

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) continues to upgrade its fleet and agricultural capabilities through the recent acquisition of four new assets. These additions, ranging from high-capacity transport to heavy-duty farm machinery, are part of a strategic effort to improve university operations and increase field productivity. Last Thursday, February 19, 2026, CLSU officially received the newly acquired Toyota Super Grandia, Toyota Hilux Tamaraw, and Kubota L5228 Tractor. The 10-seater van was purchased to provide comfortable transportation for small groups attending official events. At the same time, the Tamaraw FX has been assigned to operational business use, including the efficient transport of products and the delivery of essential services. The University Business Affairs Program (UBAP) will utilize the new tractors to boost farm productivity. Meanwhile, the Department of Agriculture (DA) donated one additional unit of Ford YTO MF504 tractor that will enhance the university's local agricultural productivity. These acquisitions demonstrate CLSU's commitment to providing efficient and comfortable transportation options for its growing community. #SievingForExcellence

CLSU Collegian among best performing pubs in R3

Central Luzon State University’s (CLSU) official student publication, CLSU Collegian, once again reaffirmed its journalistic competence after securing the 3rd and 5th placements of the individual and group events, respectively, among 42 participating publications during the 24th Regional Higher Education Press Conference (RHEPC) in Arayat, Pampanga. Securing 21 awards in the individual events to place 3rd overall, several staff from the publication who placed fifth and higher, will qualify for the Luzonwide Higher Education Press Conference (LHEPC) in Tuguegarao City on March 17-19. Meanwhile, Alianah Marie Pangilinan stood out individually, finishing as the 1st Runner-Up in the Ms. RHEPC 2026, and earning Best in Advocacy Video and Best Publication Shirt for the Female Category. Overall, CLSU Collegian was able to reap 43 awards in the RHEPC, which was organized by the Association of Tertiary School Paper Advisers of Region III, Inc.
