Pres. Abella Receives 6 Exchange Students for SEA Teacher Pilot Batch 3

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella received six exchange students for the Southeast Asia Pre-Service Teacher Exchange Program (SEA Teacher) Pilot Batch 3 to be held from February 6 to March 5, 2024. Now on its third pilot batch, the program was initiated by the University of Tsukuba, Japan, through its Center for Research on International Cooperation in Educational Development (CRICED) and the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) with the exclusive participation of four higher education Institutions in the region; CLSU, Khon Khaen University (KKU), Thailand, and Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI). The inbound students include Bureewat Nakajad and Laksanaporn Phiwon from KKU, Thailand, Fatin Nasywa Kirana and Muhammad Azhar from UPI, Indonesia and Jin Shunsuke and Tajime Amane from UT, Japan. According to Dr. Regidor G. Gaboy, International Affairs Office Program Manager for SEA Teacher, the exchange students will be deployed and have their practice teaching for one month at the CLSU Laboratory for Teaching and Learning – University Science High School.

CLSU Earns Hall of Fame with 3rd Consecutive eNGAS Award

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Financial Management Services Office (FMSO) under General Administrative Support Services, was conferred the prestigious Hall of Fame award as an Outstanding Electronic National Government Accounting System (eNGAS) User Entity for Calendar Year 2026. The award was presented by the Government Financial Management Innovators Circle (GFMIC), Inc. during a ceremony held on September 22, 2026, at the Luxent Hotel in Quezon City. This milestone marks CLSU’s third consecutive year winning the award since 2024. The eNGAS modernizes government accounting, serving as a digital tool to process public funds with speed, accuracy, and full transparency. Guided by a strict culture of financial accountability, CLSU maintains a zero-tolerance policy for discrepancies. FMS Director Jinky Parugrug shared that even a single-centavo variance prompts mandatory revalidation. “This ensures that university funds for student services and infrastructure are strictly protected,” Parugrug noted. Vice President for Administration Dr. Ariel G. Mactal accepted the award alongside Director Parugrug, Accounting Office Head John Mark Tangonan, and key representatives from the Accounting and Budget Offices.

CLSU Produces 2 RPm Topnotchers; Sustains 94% Institutional Passing Rate

For two consecutive years, the Central Luzon State University (CLSU) College of Arts and Social Sciences, through its Department of Psychology, maintained its excellence by producing two topnotchers in the September Psychometrician Licensure Examination. Leading the 106 successful examinees from the University are Mr. Gamaliel Valeroso, who secured sixth rank with a rating of 93.20%, and Ms. Precious Somera, who placed in ninth rank with a rating of 92.60%. First-time examinees posted an exemplary 95.37% passing performance, while retakers achieved a 75% success rate, resulting in an outstanding overall passing rate of 94.64%—surpassing the national passing rate of 91.72%. CHEDRO III Recognizes CLSU for Outstanding Performance in Global Rankings

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has once again affirmed its standing on the global academic stage, after receiving recognition from the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office III (CHEDRO III) for earning the two prestigious international rankings - 83rd in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026 and achieving Rank 601–800 in the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Rating 2026, during the PARANGAL Central Luzon 2026, on September 14, 2026, at Hotel Seoul, Clark, Pampanga. Dr. Parsons N. Hail, Director of the International Affairs Office (IAO), represented University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella during the awarding ceremony and received the certificates of recognition on behalf of the University. PARANGAL Central Luzon 2026, the Premier Awarding and Recognition of Academic Networks, Global Achievements and Linkages, was one of the highlights of TANGLAW (Together Achieving National and Global Legacies for ASEAN-ready and World-Class) Central Luzon 2026. Organized by CHEDRO III in line with the observance of ASEAN Month, TANGLAW Central Luzon 2026 forms part of the Commission’s continuing efforts to advance the internationalization of higher education institutions in Central Luzon and recognize their accomplishments in global engagement, partnerships, and international rankings.
