THE EDUCATOR HANDS AID TO NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION

Dec. 12, 2021

For Our Farmers Ph. Inc. – Bayanihan Para sa Magsasaka” extended their appreciation to The Educator, official publication of College of Education, Central Luzon State University, upon receiving a total of 4,500-peso cash donation last January 11, 2021. We express our sincere gratitude for your contribution and support to our local farmers and kababayans affected by the recent typhoons and flooding,” stated the organization. For Our Farmers Ph. Inc. is an organization based in San Carlos, Pangasinan and was established on March 26, 2020. It is a youth-led, non-stock, and a non-profit organization that helps and uplifts local farmers and fisher folks. The organization believes that “People who till the land and feed us should never go hungry.” The monetary donation will directly benefit the organization’s Project Sagip, which provides relief goods and hygiene packs to 12 different areas in the Philippines, and grants a small subsidy to local farmers who lost their crops because of the typhoons. “Right now, we have five ongoing relief operations for our kababayans severely affected by typhoon Rolly and Ulysses,” they mentioned.   The Educator accumulated the funds through their recent extension project. Head Illustrator Trinity Salazar and Literary Editor Elle Nikkita Guzman came up with Art for a Cause, where interested individuals may choose from sample designs with corresponding donation amounts, and receive a customized digital image done by Salazar herself. They were assisted by Editor-in-Chief Maricar Javillonar, Associate Editor Billy Joe Nicolas, and the rest of the staffers of The Educator. Initially, 10 slots were opened to the public, but the duration and scope of the project was extended due to additional donation initiatives. All proceeds went to For Our Farmers Ph. Inc. “We chose to turn over the donations to For Our Farmers because their philosophy resonated with us. We are very thankful to those who donated, because together, we are able to support the organization’s philosophy of valuing the welfare of those who feed us,” stated Ms. Coreen Frias, adviser of The Educator.
