Despite the inclement weather, Central Luzon State University (CLSU) successfully held its Ecumenical Baccalaureate Service today, July 24, at the University Auditorium. The service offered a meaningful opportunity for graduating students to reflect on their academic journey, express gratitude for their accomplishments, and receive encouragement as they prepare for their future endeavors.
Reverend Father Richard P. Lagos, OP, MA, EMAS, of the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Jose Nueva Ecija, served as the esteemed Guest of Honor and Speaker. Father Lagos delivered an inspiring message emphasizing the importance of courage and faith as the graduates transition to the next chapter of their lives.
“The world doesn’t just need graduates. It needs healers, bridge-builders, innovators with compassion, leaders with character, and doers with hope,” he stressed as he concluded his message.
The service underscored CLSU's dedication to inclusivity and respect for diverse faith traditions, featuring representatives from various religious denominations. Dr. Romeo S. Gundran, Missionary Pastor of Lakas-Angkan Ministries; Reverend Nomeriano E. Antonino, DTh, Senior Pastor of City Builders for Jesus International; Reverend Noel B. Alfonso, Pastor, United Methodist Church, and Reverend Father Rufo Ramil H. Cruz, Ph.D., Administrator of Christ the Worker Chaplaincy, jointly led the service.
Following the Baccalaureate Service, the graduating class will be honored further this afternoon with a Tea Party and Recognition Program.
