U.S. Embassy Targets Possible Collaboration with CLSU

Delegates from the Public Affairs Office of the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines, led by Ms. Pauline Anderson, visited the Central Luzon State University (CLSU) on February 27, 2023. During the first hours of their visit, they were led for a luncheon cum orientation followed by a field tour along the University American Heritage District. The possible restoration of old houses built during the reign of American superintendents and the improvement of the superintendents’ park and botanical garden were presented by Dr. Emil F. Ubaldo and Asst. Prof. Floper Gershwin E. Manuel during the luncheon meeting. Meanwhile, Asst. Prof. Karryl Angelie G. Abon-Amis, the point person of the U.S.-Ph Exchange Alumni in CLSU (Fulbright-FLTA), assisted the delegates throughout their stay particularly, the campus tour which ran from Main Gate, Infirmary, Executive House, Academic Avenue, Reimers Hall, University Canteen, Post Office, Ladies Dorm 3, 4 and 5, Superintendents’ Park to Botanical Garden. These experiences primarily opened for more opportunities and possible collaborations between the U.S. embassy and CLSU. Meanwhile, a session entitled “Study in the USA” was also held wherein it was attended by 160 Senior High School students and ten student leaders from the University Supreme Students Council (USSC) held at the R&E Amphitheater. To cap off their visit, a short program was conducted at the Reimers Hall wherein they were joined by CLSU faculty who had their graduate and postgraduate degrees from different Universities in the USA. Moreover, Ms. Anderson expressed her gratitude to CLSU for the warm welcome likewise, she shared how delightful she was with her encounters with the invited US scholars. "Thank you for facilitating our visit here today, and thank you for the very formal and excellent hospitality. I am very humbled to be here, this shows your incredible trust in Fulbright and the U.S. Embassy and I'm excited to see this partnership grow" Ms. Anderson added. The program was attended by the University President, Dr. Edgar A. Orden, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Renato G. Reyes, Vice President of Administration, Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, Vice President of Business Affairs, Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, Vice President of Research and Extension, Dr. Armando N. Espino, Jr. together with the scholars of Fulbright foundation and other U.S. based institutions and programs.

CLSU Celebrates Monthlong CSC Anniversary

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) proudly joined in the nationwide celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service Commission (CSC), showcasing its commitment to excellence in public service. Throughout September, the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) organized a series of activities for employees designed to foster camaraderie, strengthen professional skills, and promote holistic well-being among its staff. These events include a diverse lineup, featuring Fun Run, Wellness Day, and Sportsfest, which promote health and community spirit, while Customer Relations Management Training sharpens professional skills. The University also facilitated Philsys National ID Registration and a vital Bloodletting Activity, underscoring its dedication to both its staff and the wider community.

CLSU Receives Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity Award

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Financial Management Services led by Dir. Jinky Parugrug, has been honored with the "Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity" Award for the second consecutive time. The recognition was conferred during the Government Financial Management Innovations Circle, Inc.'s (GFMIC) 16th Annual National Convention, held on September 25, 2025, in Tagbilaran, Bohol. This accolade underscores CLSU's exemplary utilization of the Electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS). The eNGAS is a critical software solution designed to modernize government accounting, ensuring all financial transactions are processed with accuracy, reliability, completeness, and timeliness. CLSU stands out among academic institutions, being one of only three universities nationwide, alongside Tarlac State University and Bukidnon State University, to receive this distinction. Other awardees were drawn from National Government Agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs). The award was formally accepted by Mr. John Mark Tangonan, head of the Accounting Office, together with staff from both the Accounting and Budget Office. This achievement serves as a significant affirmation of CLSU's strong commitment to digitalization and its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy in financial reporting.
