USHS Alumni Unveil “Labor of Lab” Project for Young Innovators

The Alumni Batch 2003 of Central Luzon State University - University Science High School (CLSU-USHS) officially turned over to the university a newly renovated and fully equipped laboratory on August 29, 2024. This project, titled “Labor of Lab: Science Laboratory for USHS,” was made possible through their donation drive which aims to benefit both junior and senior high school students, enhancing their learning experience in science education. The project, which started in early 2024, successfully raised over one million pesos through contributions from sponsors and alumni. The renovated laboratory is now equipped with two units of the Versatile Instrumentation System for Science Education and Research (VISSER) Comprehensive Kits, allowing students to perform 67 hands-on experiments across biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science. Furthermore, it includes provisions for tables, cabinets, and stools. Mr. Joy Arvin Sadaran, President of the USHS Batch 2003 shared the inspiring story behind the inception of the donation drive, detailing how the initiative came to life. He also presented the financial breakdown of donations collected from the earliest USHS Alumni batches to the most recent graduates, while highlighting the plans for the laboratory. Meanwhile, University President Evaristo A. Abella expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the sponsors and organizers for their generous contribution to their alma mater. He also assured them of the University’s commitment to maintaining and safekeeping the laboratory. “Napakaraming makikinabang sa proyektong ito, at salamat dahil kahit dalawang dekada na mula ng kayo ay nakagraduate ay hindi ninyo nalilimot na tulungan ang ating mga mag-aaral…And to the current students of USHS, sulitin ninyo ang regalong ito, mahalin at alagaan, pagmalasakitan upang mapanatili ang kagandahan at magamit pa sa mga susunod na henerasyon,” President Abella said. In response, Mr. Lanz Rafael C. Barata and Ms. Alena Austria, student representatives, expressed their appreciation and affirmed their dedication to optimizing the utilization of the laboratory. Key officials who graced the event were Vice president for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ravelina Velasco, Vice President for Research and Extension, Dr. Edgar Orden, Vice President for Administration, Dr. Ariel Mactal, Director of Financial Management Services, Ms. Jinky Parugrug, Head of CLSU Laboratory for Teaching & Learning (CLTL) - USHS, Dr. Verjun Dilla and Sub-Unit Head of CLTL-USHS, Dr. Aileen De Guzman. The sponsors who were present were Ms. Maria Katrina Garcia-Agulto of Le Felize Victoria, Dr. Dianne Salazar-Paras of DWELL Dermatology, Ms. Maria Francheska Coreen Frias of Dr. Yasmin Frias-Leodones Dental Clinic, and Dr. Aileen Zagala-Jazon of Queen Mary's Clinic and San Jose Nuat Thai. #CLSUAlumni #GoldenGrains

CLSU Celebrates Monthlong CSC Anniversary

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) proudly joined in the nationwide celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service Commission (CSC), showcasing its commitment to excellence in public service. Throughout September, the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) organized a series of activities for employees designed to foster camaraderie, strengthen professional skills, and promote holistic well-being among its staff. These events include a diverse lineup, featuring Fun Run, Wellness Day, and Sportsfest, which promote health and community spirit, while Customer Relations Management Training sharpens professional skills. The University also facilitated Philsys National ID Registration and a vital Bloodletting Activity, underscoring its dedication to both its staff and the wider community.

CLSU Receives Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity Award

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Financial Management Services led by Dir. Jinky Parugrug, has been honored with the "Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity" Award for the second consecutive time. The recognition was conferred during the Government Financial Management Innovations Circle, Inc.'s (GFMIC) 16th Annual National Convention, held on September 25, 2025, in Tagbilaran, Bohol. This accolade underscores CLSU's exemplary utilization of the Electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS). The eNGAS is a critical software solution designed to modernize government accounting, ensuring all financial transactions are processed with accuracy, reliability, completeness, and timeliness. CLSU stands out among academic institutions, being one of only three universities nationwide, alongside Tarlac State University and Bukidnon State University, to receive this distinction. Other awardees were drawn from National Government Agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs). The award was formally accepted by Mr. John Mark Tangonan, head of the Accounting Office, together with staff from both the Accounting and Budget Office. This achievement serves as a significant affirmation of CLSU's strong commitment to digitalization and its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy in financial reporting.
