USSC Chair is Sworn In as New Student Regent

Aljone V. Viterbo, the newly seated Chairperson of the University Supreme Student Council (USSC) for the Academic Year 2025-2026, has officially been sworn in as the Student Regent of Central Luzon State University (CLSU) following her oath-taking ceremony held on August 12, 2025 during the regular Board of Regents (BOR) meeting at the Pampanga State University (formerly DHVSU). As Student Regent, Viterbo will serve as the official representative of the student body. Her responsibilities include advocating for the needs and interests of students, conveying their concerns, and ensuring that their voices are adequately represented in all policy decisions made by the BOR. This appointment underscores the university's commitment to fostering student participation in institutional governance. CTEC Kicks off this year’s Pencil Donation Drive

In a heartwarming display of community support and commitment to education, the Central Luzon State University Testing and Evaluation Center (CTEC) officially kicked off this year's Pencil Donation Drive on August 13, 2025, benefiting the students of the DepEd-CLSU Elementary (Lab) School. The event was led by University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, who was joined by Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Elmer D. Dela Rosa, Head of the Testing and Evaluation Center. They distributed the pencils to the students, emphasizing the importance of education and encouraging the children to excel in their studies. The pencils were generously donated by the examinees of the recent CLSU College Admission Test. This act of kindness is only a testament to the students' and the University's commitment to giving back and building strong ties with the community. Beyond the initial kick-off, CTEC plans to extend the program by donating pencils to other nearby schools within the province, ensuring more students have the tools they need to succeed in their academic journey.

CLSU, PGNE Formalize Partnership to Boost NE farmers through the Establishment of Food Processing Facility

The Provincial Government of Nueva Ecija (PGNE) and Central Luzon State University (CLSU) have officially established a long-term collaboration through signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) focused on a shared mission of improving the lives of farmers in the province, held today, August 12, at the CLSU Administration Conference Room. The partnership revolved around the establishment and operation of the Nueva Ecija Food Processing Center, to which CLSU will play a vital role by providing its expertise in crucial areas, including business planning, utilizing research for practical applications, developing new products using local agricultural produce, and facilitating extension services to strengthen farmers’ organizations, and cooperatives among others. This was affirmed by University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, who stated, “It is good that the provincial government of Nueva Ecija is now maximizing the University’s expertise. Andito po kami, we are ready and always willing to help especially our farmers.” The ceremonial MOA signing was led by Governor Aurelio “Oyie” M. Umali and CLSU President Abella joined by key officials, including Atty. Jose Maria Ceasar C. San Pedro, Provincial Administrator; Dr. Jovita B. Agliam, Provincial Agriculturist; Mr. Angelo Piccio from the Provincial Planning and Development Office; Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, CLSU Vice President for Administration; Dr. Emmanuel M. Vera Cruz, Vice President for Research and Extension represented by Dr. Aldrin E. Badua, University Extension Office Director; Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Karenina B. Romualdo, Vice President for Business Affairs; and Dr. Celyrah B. Catillo, Dean of the College of Home Science and Industry. Governor Umali expressed his excitement to partner with the University, saying, “We are positioning ourselves as the food basket of Central Luzon. I encourage CLSU to be part of the Food Council so we can gather our collective wisdom as a strong basis for convincing the Sangguniang Panlalawigan to support this initiative.” He also stressed the harmonization of CLSU and PGNE for having one mind, one heart as this is just the first of many MOAs to come. This partnership will leverage the academic and research capabilities of CLSU to support the provincial government's efforts in strengthening the sustainable agricultural sector, providing farmers with new opportunities and a path toward economic security.
