2 Hospitality Management Students Bag Top Award for the Philippine Culinary Cup

Two senior students of Central Luzon State University (CLSU) taking Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) won 1st place in the recently concluded PhilCan EDUCON Magic7+ Philippine Culinary Cup at the SMX Convention Center on August 3-6, 2022 during the World Food Expo. The young chefs, Raymon Maubog and Maverick Uy received the Silver Award which is the highest among the participating universities. They were coached by Ms. Jennylynne L. Lubrin and Mr. Jomerick F. Domingo, faculty members from the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management (DHTM) of the College of Home Science and Industry.   Still part of the activities of the PhilCan EDUCON Magic7+ Philippine Culinary Cup under the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Indigenous Knowledge System and Cultural Management (IKSCM) Program, two third-year CLSU BSHM students joined the Executive Chef Networking at the Conrad Hotel last August 3-4, 2022. Nathaniel Domingo and Kim Velasco along with other students from Central Mindanao University, Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, and Mariano Marcos State University had the chance to work with Conrad Manila's Executive Chef Warren Brown and Executive Chef James McFarland of the University of Saskatchewan during the Executive Chef Networking. The event highlighted Canadian cuisines and ingredients. The Embassy of Canada hosted the said dinner where the attendees which also include CHED Chair J. Prospero E. De Vera III and other officials got to sample the different “Flavors of Canada.”    The said students were trained by Asst. Prof. Michelle A. Domingo and Ms. Celeste D. Dela Cruz. The DHTM celebrates this victorious feat as this is their first time competing in the said culinary competition.

CLSU Celebrates Monthlong CSC Anniversary

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) proudly joined in the nationwide celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service Commission (CSC), showcasing its commitment to excellence in public service. Throughout September, the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) organized a series of activities for employees designed to foster camaraderie, strengthen professional skills, and promote holistic well-being among its staff. These events include a diverse lineup, featuring Fun Run, Wellness Day, and Sportsfest, which promote health and community spirit, while Customer Relations Management Training sharpens professional skills. The University also facilitated Philsys National ID Registration and a vital Bloodletting Activity, underscoring its dedication to both its staff and the wider community.

CLSU Receives Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity Award

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Financial Management Services led by Dir. Jinky Parugrug, has been honored with the "Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity" Award for the second consecutive time. The recognition was conferred during the Government Financial Management Innovations Circle, Inc.'s (GFMIC) 16th Annual National Convention, held on September 25, 2025, in Tagbilaran, Bohol. This accolade underscores CLSU's exemplary utilization of the Electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS). The eNGAS is a critical software solution designed to modernize government accounting, ensuring all financial transactions are processed with accuracy, reliability, completeness, and timeliness. CLSU stands out among academic institutions, being one of only three universities nationwide, alongside Tarlac State University and Bukidnon State University, to receive this distinction. Other awardees were drawn from National Government Agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs). The award was formally accepted by Mr. John Mark Tangonan, head of the Accounting Office, together with staff from both the Accounting and Budget Office. This achievement serves as a significant affirmation of CLSU's strong commitment to digitalization and its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy in financial reporting.
