The Office of Student Affairs-Career Development and Employment Services Unit (OSA-CDESU) in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - Nueva Ecija conducted a capacity-building and skills enhancement activities on entrepreneurship among students on March 12-14, 2025 at the DHTM Lounge. With more than 30 participants, including the newly formed CLSU Student Economic Enterprise Group (CSEEG) established under OSA, the three-day seminar-workshop, dubbed "YEP! You Can Be Your Own Boss," is in line with the DTI-Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP), which aims to teach foundational business skills among the youth, including recognizing opportunities and clients, managing financing, and strategizing business plans. The seminar-workshop commenced with Dr. Irene G. Bustos, OSA Dean, giving an overview of the event and introducing the module. It was filled with activities and learning opportunities, covering topics such as business fundamentals, operations, finance, and communication. The workshop concluded with a business pitching competition, allowing participants to apply what they had learned. This initiative, led by Associate Professor Magdalena Galang, Career Development Coordinator, and Service Coordinator for Persons with Disabilities and Students with Special Needs section of the Guidance Services Unit, marked a significant milestone in equipping students with the essential skills for entrepreneurship, addressing sustainable development goals related to poverty reduction, economic growth, and the promotion of decent work. #DecentWorkAndEconomicGrowth #SDG8 #sievingforexcellence
