CF-FAC Professor Receives Outstanding Scientific Paper Award

Dr. Emmanuel M. Vera Cruz, one of the prolific faculty-researcher of the College of Fisheries and Freshwater Aquaculture Center received the outstanding scientific paper award together with his advisee, CLSU alumna Dr. Paloma D. De Chavez, Dean of the College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, Marinduque State College, during the 45th National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) Annual Scientific Meeting held July 12-13, 2023 in Manila. Their research entitled “Vulnerability to Climate Change of Giant Squid (Thysanoteuthis rhombus) Fishery in Marinduque, Philippines” co-authored by Dr. Mudjekeewis D. Santos, Ms. Gilda Joannah A. Calderon, and Mr. Sherwin B. Santos of the National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (NFRDI) was published in the Philippine Journal of Fisheries. The Outstanding Scientific Paper (OSP) award is given annually for papers published in Thompson Reuters or SCOPUS-listed journals in the Philippines within five years preceding the award.

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through the College of Agriculture, has once again proven its status as a Center of Excellence in the recently conducted Agriculturist Licensure Exam administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) in November 2025. The University was recognized as the second-highest-performing school in the 2025 Agriculturist Licensure Examination, with 208 “Golden Grains” successfully passing, earning CLSU an overall performance rating of 91.63%, up from its previous rating of 82.57%. CLSU Sustains its Standing in the AppliedHE Asia Rankings; Climbs to 2nd Rank Among the Best Public Uni in the Ph

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has maintained its impressive standing in the latest AppliedHE Public and Private University rankings, affirming its position among the best universities in Asia and in the Philippines as it secured a ranking in the 201-220 bracket, improving its position to 2nd among public universities in the country and 1st in Central Luzon. CLSU shares its national ranking with Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology, Davao Del Norte State College, West Visayas State University, and Pangasinan State University, while the University of the Philippines continues to hold the top spot. CEn Produces 16 New Licensed Civil Engineers

The College of Engineering (CEn) celebrates the newest batch of 16 licensed civil engineers who recently took the challenging November 2025 Civil Engineering Licensure Examination given by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). Their success has resulted in an institutional passing rate of 17.78%, an achievement that underscores their persistence and intellectual fortitude.
