The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) co-hosted the first day of the 2024 National Inventors Week (NIW) held at the SMX Aura, Taguig City, on November 25, 2024. CLSU participated in the opening program and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the exhibit displays, proudly serving as one of the key exhibitors.
The University also hosted a pocket event on technology pitching, featuring innovations developed by its faculty and staff researchers. The session was divided into two clusters: food-related and non-food technologies. The food cluster highlighted five products: Mushroom Chips, Mushroom Seasoning Flakes, Arroz Caldo, Ready-to-Eat Papaitan, and Nutribar. Meanwhile, the non-food cluster showcased innovations such as the Bio-Cares Fish Amino Acid, Detection Kit for Aeromonas hydrophila, Biogas Digester Tank, BLASTbiosensor, and a Paper-based Diagnostic Kit for African Swine Fever.
These cutting-edge technologies were also displayed in a dedicated booth, emphasizing CLSU’s commitment to innovation and its contributions to the agriculture, food, and aquaculture industries. In addition to the technology pitching, CLSU entered into a Memorandum of Collaboration with The Filipino Inventors Federation, Inc. of the Philippines to push the promotion of Filipino inventions and foster innovation on a national scale.
University President Evaristo A. Abella shared that “CLSU has always championed initiatives that celebrate the ingenuity and creativity of Filipino inventors,” highlighting the academe’s role in pushing for innovation. The 2024 NIW was organized by the Rizal Inventors and Innovators Society, Inc. (RIISI) in partnership with SM Aura and SMX run from November 25-28, 2024.
