CLSU COLLEGE OF FISHERIES JOINS ASEAN- FISHERIES EDUCATION NETWORK

Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Dean of the College of Fisheries attended the round table discussion of the Board Members of the ASEAN Fisheries Education Network in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on November 19-20, 2019. In her 10-minute presentation, she captured the metamorphosis  of CLSU from a farm school to a university,  students and highlighted the College of Fisheries’ goals, academic programs, research works, grants, publications, collaborations done by the strong faculty members and performance of graduates in the licensure examination . She and other applicants to the network were asked to go out for the deliberation of the Board Members. ASEAN Fisheries Education Network” (ASEAN-FEN) is a team of university-based consortia representing the fisheries and aquaculture oriented institutions within the Southeast Asia region. ASEAN-FEN was established by agreement of its principal members namely Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (Malaysia), Universiti Sains Malaysia (Malaysia), Can Tho University (Vietnam), Nong Lam University (Vietnam), Kasetsart University (Thailand), Prince of Songkla University (Thailand), Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (Thailand) and Universitas Air Langga (Indonesia) for the purpose of supporting and enhancing the fisheries and aquaculture sector through education, research, and public outreach in the region. The ASEAN-FEN supports and facilitates activities of educators, scientists, and agencies responding to local, regional, national, and international issues on fisheries and aquaculture.

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through the College of Agriculture, has once again proven its status as a Center of Excellence in the recently conducted Agriculturist Licensure Exam administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) in November 2025. The University was recognized as the second-highest-performing school in the 2025 Agriculturist Licensure Examination, with 208 “Golden Grains” successfully passing, earning CLSU an overall performance rating of 91.63%, up from its previous rating of 82.57%. CLSU Sustains its Standing in the AppliedHE Asia Rankings; Climbs to 2nd Rank Among the Best Public Uni in the Ph

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has maintained its impressive standing in the latest AppliedHE Public and Private University rankings, affirming its position among the best universities in Asia and in the Philippines as it secured a ranking in the 201-220 bracket, improving its position to 2nd among public universities in the country and 1st in Central Luzon. CLSU shares its national ranking with Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology, Davao Del Norte State College, West Visayas State University, and Pangasinan State University, while the University of the Philippines continues to hold the top spot. CEn Produces 16 New Licensed Civil Engineers

The College of Engineering (CEn) celebrates the newest batch of 16 licensed civil engineers who recently took the challenging November 2025 Civil Engineering Licensure Examination given by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
