CLSU Collegian, Central Luzon State University’s Official Student Publication, garnered recognition during the 19th Luzonwide Higher Education Press Conference (LHEPC) held last March 19 to 21, 2023 at the Villa Caceres Hotel, Naga City, Camarines Sur. The individual achievements of publication staffers are as follows: Julius Ceazar Gumarang 2nd Place Development Communication Writing (Filipino) 5th Place Feature Writing (Filipino) Winchester Santos 7th Place News Writing (English) 9th Place Editorial Writing (Filipino) Steven John Collado 7th Place Layouting James William Soriano 9th Place Editorial Writing (English) On the other hand, the publication submitted entries for the group categories and received the following awards: TABLOID ISSUE Overall 9th Runner-Up 2nd Best Editorial Page 4th Best Literary Page 8th Best Sports Page NEWSLETTER ISSUE Overall 8th Runner-Up 3rd Best Layout 5th Best Literary Page 5th Best Editorial and; Opinion Page 10th Best Development Communication Page In addition, Santos has been appointed as a member of the Board of Directors (BOD) for the newly elected Luzonwide Association of Campus Editors (LACE) for the term 2024 to 2025. These achievements are a testament to the dedication and hard work of the official student publication, bringing in valuable stories that represent and inspire the CLSU studentry. LHEPC is an annual event organized by the Association of Luzonwide Tertiary Press Advisers (ALTPA), with this year’s partner – the Association of Tertiary Schools Publication Advisers of Bicol (ATSPAB) Inc.

CLSU Bithay Sining Dance Company Bags Gold at the 2025 World Mask Dance Competition in South Korea

The CLSU Bithay Sining Dance Company, one of the cultural groups in the university achieved a remarkable feat on the global stage by winning the Gold Prize under the group category (International Division) during the 2025 Andong Mask Dance Festival and World Mask Play Competition, held from September 25 to October 6, 2025, in Andong, South Korea. Under the artistic direction of Associate Professor Adonis Voltaire M. Villanueva, CLSU Bithay Sining Dance Company impressed both the audience and judges with its award-winning performance. It highlighted the artistry, discipline, and cultural depth of Filipino dance by combining tradition and innovation. The choreography showcased Philippine heritage through dynamic movements, vibrant costumes, and storytelling. The CLSU Bithay Sining Dance Company’s success at the World Mask Dance Competition solidifies the university's increasing global visibility and impact in the performing arts. #SievingForExcellence

CLSU Celebrates Monthlong CSC Anniversary

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) proudly joined in the nationwide celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service Commission (CSC), showcasing its commitment to excellence in public service. Throughout September, the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) organized a series of activities for employees designed to foster camaraderie, strengthen professional skills, and promote holistic well-being among its staff. These events include a diverse lineup, featuring Fun Run, Wellness Day, and Sportsfest, which promote health and community spirit, while Customer Relations Management Training sharpens professional skills. The University also facilitated Philsys National ID Registration and a vital Bloodletting Activity, underscoring its dedication to both its staff and the wider community.

CLSU Receives Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity Award

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Financial Management Services led by Dir. Jinky Parugrug, has been honored with the "Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity" Award for the second consecutive time. The recognition was conferred during the Government Financial Management Innovations Circle, Inc.'s (GFMIC) 16th Annual National Convention, held on September 25, 2025, in Tagbilaran, Bohol. This accolade underscores CLSU's exemplary utilization of the Electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS). The eNGAS is a critical software solution designed to modernize government accounting, ensuring all financial transactions are processed with accuracy, reliability, completeness, and timeliness. CLSU stands out among academic institutions, being one of only three universities nationwide, alongside Tarlac State University and Bukidnon State University, to receive this distinction. Other awardees were drawn from National Government Agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs). The award was formally accepted by Mr. John Mark Tangonan, head of the Accounting Office, together with staff from both the Accounting and Budget Office. This achievement serves as a significant affirmation of CLSU's strong commitment to digitalization and its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy in financial reporting.
