CLSU Continues to Rank as One of the Best Universities in Asia

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU), for the third time, made it to the list of best universities in Asia according to the 2023 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia University Ranking.    This year, the University ranked as the 118th top university in South Eastern Asia with a 701-750 QS ranking in Asia. More so, only 16 Philippine universities made it to the list, with CLSU as the lone university from region 3.   CLSU remains to be committed to nurturing a culture of excellence in academics and R&D to become one of the world-class higher education institutions.   University President Edgar A. Orden celebrates this achievement with the whole university as this is the result of the collective effort of faculty, staff, students, and alumni who participated in making this journey a success.   “With these international recognitions, CLSU continuously makes a mark on a global scale and indeed a great representative as a forefront higher education institution,” President Orden expressed.   Over 760 universities all over Asia were featured this year and are considered the biggest to date.   Congratulations, CLSU!

CHSI-DFST Faculty Completes SEARCA's Program for Leaders in Asian Agriculture and Development

Dr. Joel G. Juvinal, faculty and current head of the Department of Food Science and Technology (DFST), College of Home Science and Industry (CHSI), has successfully completed the rigorous Executive Program for Leaders in Asian Agriculture and Development (LAAD): Focus on Southeast Asia, which ran from May to June 2025 and was organized by the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA). Dr. Juvinal was one of the few selected participants awarded with a training grant from SEARCA to support his participation. The LAAD program is designed to equip agricultural leaders with up-to-date insights on regional agricultural and food systems. It also sharpens skills in strategic thinking, innovation, and institutional transformation. A key component of the course involved the development of a futuring project based on the theory of change, with each project specifically tailored to the participant’s home institution. The program successfully brought together 26 participants from various Southeast Asian nations, including Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam, fostering a collaborative environment for regional agricultural advancement.

DOST, CLSU, & FDA-RFO III Equip MSMEs with Entrepreneurial Skills

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its College of Home Science and Industry (CHSI), in partnership with the Food and Drug Administration Regional Field Office III (FDA-RFO III) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), has launched a comprehensive Training Program for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) under the program of FDA entitled “Bigyang-halaga, Bangon MSMEs” held on June 11-12, 2025, at CLIRDEC, CLSU. The training sessions are designed to equip MSME entrepreneurs with practical knowledge across various topics, including digital marketing, financial management, product innovation, and sustainable business practices. Vice President for Administration Dr. Ariel G. Mactal delivered the welcome remarks on behalf of CLSU President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, expressing his gratitude to the partner agencies for sharing their knowledge and resources to assist the MSMEs in the region. “This program, especially designed to support and empower our local MSMEs, most of whom have faced tough challenges in recent years, especially during the pandemic, is truly relevant and will deliver great impact to the livelihood of our entrepreneurs…Through this initiative, we look forward to gaining the proper tools, information, and guidance we need to confidently operate and help grow businesses, especially in the food sector,” Dr. Mactal said. Furthermore, Dr. Celyrah B. Castillo, CHSI Dean, and Ms. Virginia P. Timbol, Regional Supervisor of FDA-RFO III, also expressed their enthusiasm for the collaborative effort and reiterated the organizations' commitment to supporting the growth and development of MSMEs in the region. Over 100 new and seasoned entrepreneurs from Nueva Ecija and nearby provinces attended the said program. CBA Retains Excellent Performance in LECPA

Central Luzon State University, through the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA), has once again demonstrated the exceptional quality of its accountancy program by achieving an institutional passing rate of 47.06% in the recently administered Licensure Examination for Certified Public Accountant (LECPA). The results reflect a commendable performance from first-time examinees, who recorded a passing rate of 52.17%, while re-examinees achieved a rate of 36.36%. These outcomes underscore the dedicated efforts of both the faculty and students, positioning the university above the national average passing rate of 33.11%.
