CLSU Debuts in WURI 2023; Ranks 1st in Industrial Application Among PH Universities

As its first-time quest to the World Universities with Real Impact (WURI), Central Luzon State University (CLSU) debuted as ranked 86th on the Global Top 100 Innovative Universities among 300 universities  worldwide; which made CLSU the number 1 University in Region 3 to have a global impact. The University submitted its projects under the Industrial Application, Ethical Value, and Fourth Industrial Revolution categories which were evaluated based on innovativeness, implementability, and impact. CLSU garnered the following rankings from the three aforesaid categories: Top 27 on Industrial Application and ranked 1st in the Ph with Program titled “Nanogold ASF Test Kits: Bringing Life to an Ailing Swine Industry” Top 25 on Ethical Value and ranked 2nd in the PH with Program titled “Community empowerment for inclusive and sustainable development in a technology-driven society” Top 19 on Fourth Industrial Revolution and ranked 5th in the PH with Program titled “PreDiCt: Advancing Digital Agriculture, Ensuring Food Security” The result was announced today, May 18 in a hybrid event during the Third Annual Conference of the Hanseatic League of Universities Conference. The WURI, created by the Hanseatic League of Universities, evaluates the university’s real contributions to society, highlighting creative and innovative approaches to universities' research and educational programs.

VP for Academic Affairs is 2025 Outstanding Muñozonian

Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs of Central Luzon State University, has been recognized as one of the 2025 Outstanding Muñozonians by the Wag-Wag Club for her dedication to education, science, and public service. The awarding ceremony was held on December 29, 2025, at the Science City of Muñoz Gymnasium during the 76th Anniversary of the Wag-Wag Club. The Club bestowed this honor to celebrate individuals whose leadership and service help shape Muñoz’s progress and shared future. This recognition highlights Dr. Velasco’s efforts in advancing academic leadership and community-driven initiatives in Muñoz and beyond. It also holds personal significance since her mother, Marieta Mendoza Recometa, a midwife by profession, was similarly honored by the Wag-Wag Club as an Outstanding Muñozonian in 1967. The award continues a legacy of service spanning generations. CLSU Transfers Chairmanship of DC-SUC III/CIRPS to TSU

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) officially transferred the chairmanship of the Development Council of State Universities and Colleges Region III – Center for Interinstitutional Research and Policy Studies (DCSUC III/CIRPS) to Tarlac State University (TSU) during the Turnover Ceremony on December 17, 2025, at Hotel Seoul, Clark, Pampanga. Under the leadership of CLSU President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella and Executive Director Dr. Emil F. Ubaldo, CLSU concluded its 2024–2025 term. During this period, the Council successfully steered 13 State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) across Region III toward advancements in research, innovation, and evidence-based policy development. During the event, Pres. Abella led the symbolic passing of the key of responsibility, signifying the formal transfer of leadership to TSU. Dr. Arnold E. Velasco, TSU President, accepted the role as the new Chairperson of DCSUC III/CIRPS and affirmed his commitment to steering the Council toward sustainable, inclusive, and research-driven universities. The turnover ceremony also served as a venue to acknowledge the collective efforts of member SUCs in strengthening inter-institutional collaboration, enhancing research capacity, and promoting responsive policy studies across the region. #SievingForExcellence

CLSU Shines in September and November 2025 LET, Surpassing Nat’l Passing Rates and Ranking 8th in Secondary Education

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its College of Education (CEd), has once again reaffirmed its status as a Center of Excellence after posting outstanding institutional passing rates in the September and November 2025 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) released by the Professional Regulation Commission. CLSU recorded a 90.48% passing rate in Elementary Education and 91.99% in Secondary Education, significantly higher than the national passing rates of 51.04% and 72.62 percent, respectively. Further strengthening its impressive performance, the University ranked 8th nationwide among top-performing schools with 300 or more examinees in Secondary Education. This marks CLSU’s second consecutive year to secure a place among the country’s top-performing institutions in the said category. A total of 363 “Golden Grains" passed the LET with 76 from Elementary Education and 287 from Secondary Education, earning their professional licenses. This achievement underscores CEd’s unwavering commitment to excellence and its dedication to producing globally competitive educators.
