Aside from showcasing products and technologies through exhibits, experts from Central Luzon State University (CLSU) also served as plenary speakers during the Sustainability Forum on Livestock and Aquaculture Philippines 2024 International Industry Expo held at the World Trade Center (WTC) on May 24, 2024.
Dr. Edgar A. Orden, a small ruminant expert and current Vice President for Research and Extension delivered a keynote address highlighting CLSU's initiatives toward ensuring a food-secure future. These include the test kit for ASF, bacterial pathogens for Tilapia, and SFEED pellet feeds, among others. Additionally, Dr. Alvin T. Reyes from the College of Fisheries and Ms. Christine Helen Adriano from PCC at CLSU served as panelists in the forum discussion.
Meanwhile, the Techno Village Program (TVP), an extension program of CLSU aimed at accelerating countryside development, garnered significant interest during the panel discussion, with several participants from Zambales and Sorsogon expressing their desire to be part of the program.
Furthermore, farmer-partners from the TVP attended the event to explore the latest innovative technologies for livestock, ruminants, and aquaculture.
Dr. Karenina Romualdo, Vice President for Business Affairs, also graced the event to oversee machinery that can be utilized in various Income-Generating Projects of the University. Faculty and staff from the University Extension Program Office were also present.
