The Central Luzon State University through the Office of the Vice President for Research and Extension headed by Dr. Armando N. Espino, Jr., launched the Research and Development Integrated Information System (RADIIS) and KAMALIG Booking System on March 28, 2023 at the R&E Amphitheater. The event was graced by the University President, Dr. Edgar A. Orden together with the two Vice Presidents for administration and business affairs programs, namely Dr. Evaristo A. Abella and Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, respectively. They were also joined by the different R&D Center Directors, R&E Program Focal Persons, and Academic Affairs Program Data Focal Persons. President Orden, in his welcome message, mentioned that one of the reasons for the creation of RADIIS is for CLSU to reach the SUC level five and to accomplish his promise last year to come up with a smart innovation in the university. "This will be very helpful to us in monitoring and evaluating our R&D projects whether they are ongoing or completed, and GAA-funded or externally-funded," he added. During the launch of the two systems, Dr. Espino mentioned that the RADIIS is a database composed of data and information that manages and summarizes all of the R&D Centers’ programs, projects, and studies. On the other hand, due to the oozing popularity of the KAMALIG Agritourism Site, the Booking System created enables visitors to schedule their visit for better accommodation. Indeed, the RADIIS and the KAMALIG Booking System are one of the innovative projects of President Orden along with Dr. Espino. This was made possible with the help of the Management Information Systems Office (MISO), through their faculty namely, Mr. Karlo Cris Bolisay and Mr. Jan Bautista as developers, and the Strategic Communication Office who assisted in the conceptualization and design development of the systems. After the orientation seminar about RADIIS and KAMALIG Booking System, a few of the attendees saw areas that needed adjustments and improvements to be made and these were all noted for possible consideration. Though there were still a few suggestions and comments on deck, President Orden still commended the developers for coming up with these two systems which will surely help in the operations of the university

To showcase the latest findings and technologies in Cacao, the Central Luzon State University held the Cacao TALKS (Transforming Agriculture through Livelihoods, Knowledge and Sustainability) 2026: A Cacao Value Chain Conference on March 11, 2026, at the RIE Amphitheater. The conference convened over 120 cacao farmers, researchers, and entrepreneurs, with more than 1,000 views on Facebook Live, synchronizing efforts to elevate the Philippine cacao value chain. The event was made possible under the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) funded project titled “Productivity, Technical Efficiency, and Competitiveness of the Cacao Value Chain in the Philippines” led by Dr. Edilyn V. Lansangan, which aimed to transition the industry from traditional farming to a technology-driven, market-competitive sector. During the opening program, University President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, represented by Vice President for Research and Extension Dr. Emmanuel M. Your presence reflects a shared commitment to strengthening the Cacao Value Chain and unlocking the vast potential of Cacao as a driver of sustainable agriculture, livelihood generation, and rural development.” A high-level technical session featured industry leaders and researchers who addressed the multifaceted challenges of the sector. Philippine Cacao Industry Council (PCIC) President Consul Armi Lopez-Garcia and Dr. Divina M. Padua, owner of The Dulce Chocolate House, provided an entrepreneurial perspective through presenting a developed product from cacao. The event also featured a technology demonstration held at PHilMech. The event is spearheaded by CLSU together with PCIC/Philippine Cacao Industry Association, Inc. The College of Science (COS), led by its College Dean, Dr. Angeles M. De Leon, officially launched the Faculty Immersion in Research, Scholarship, and Teaching (FIRST) Program today, March 12, at the CLSU International Studio. This is an invitation for all of us to continue learning, mentoring, and growing together as a community of scholars,” De Leon said in her message.
