The Central Luzon State University through the Office of the Vice President for Research and Extension headed by Dr. Armando N. Espino, Jr., launched the Research and Development Integrated Information System (RADIIS) and KAMALIG Booking System on March 28, 2023 at the R&E Amphitheater.
The event was graced by the University President, Dr. Edgar A. Orden together with the two Vice Presidents for administration and business affairs programs, namely Dr. Evaristo A. Abella and Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, respectively. They were also joined by the different R&D Center Directors, R&E Program Focal Persons, and Academic Affairs Program Data Focal Persons.
President Orden, in his welcome message, mentioned that one of the reasons for the creation of RADIIS is for CLSU to reach the SUC level five and to accomplish his promise last year to come up with a smart innovation in the university.
"This will be very helpful to us in monitoring and evaluating our R&D projects whether they are ongoing or completed, and GAA-funded or externally-funded," he added.
During the launch of the two systems, Dr. Espino mentioned that the RADIIS is a database composed of data and information that manages and summarizes all of the R&D Centers’ programs, projects, and studies. On the other hand, due to the oozing popularity of the KAMALIG Agritourism Site, the Booking System created enables visitors to schedule their visit for better accommodation.
Indeed, the RADIIS and the KAMALIG Booking System are one of the innovative projects of President Orden along with Dr. Espino. This was made possible with the help of the Management Information Systems Office (MISO), through their faculty namely, Mr. Karlo Cris Bolisay and Mr. Jan Bautista as developers, and the Strategic Communication Office who assisted in the conceptualization and design development of the systems.
After the orientation seminar about RADIIS and KAMALIG Booking System, a few of the attendees saw areas that needed adjustments and improvements to be made and these were all noted for possible consideration. Though there were still a few suggestions and comments on deck, President Orden still commended the developers for coming up with these two systems which will surely help in the operations of the university
