CLSU Partners with Nueva Ecija PLGU for SANGHAYA Festival 2023

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) through the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) partnered with the Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) -Department of Tourism (DOT) for the 2nd “SAlamin NG Ganda at Hayag na YAmang Kultural” (SANGHAYA) Festival held in Cabanatuan City today, December 18, 2023. Focusing on the theme, “Lakbay Digital sa Kasaysayan at Yaman ng Nueva Ecija”, the activity aimed to promote and showcase the culture and heritage of Nueva Ecija cities and municipalities. In his message, Dr. Jay C. Santos, CASS Dean, expressed his gratitude to the Nueva Ecija PLGU headed by Governor Aurelio M. Umali and to all the participants from the different school divisions for their support and appreciation. “This is the second time we conducted the SANGHAYA Festival with the Nueva Ecija Provincial LGU (PLGU) and we are hoping to celebrate this annually as this project aims to encourage sustainable development through tourism,” he said. Meanwhile, Atty. Jose San Pedro, Provincial Tourism Officer, launched the “Never Ending App” – a tourism mobile application developed by the Provincial Tourism Office to promote the cultural and natural heritage, and feature various tourism sites from each municipality of Nueva Ecija. A quiz bee and a visual arts contest centering on topics about history and culture, especially on those that are related to the province were also facilitated simultaneously during the event with the school divisions from Nueva Ecija as participants.

CLSU Holds Blessing for Farmers’ Training Hostel

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) officially inaugurated the Farmers’ Training Hostel during a blessing ceremony held on November 20, 2024. The blessing was led by Fr. Rufo Ramil Cruz, CLSU Chaplain, joined by Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, University President, Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, Vice President for Administration, Dr. RavelinaR. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Karenina B. Romualdo, Vice President for University Business Affairs, Dr. Ma. Elizabeth C. Leoveras, Head of Auxiliary Services alongside other esteemed members of the Administrative Council. The newly renovated Farmers’ Training Hostel is a two-story building with 24 rooms, designed to accommodate visitors and guests, particularly those attending stay-in training programs. The hostel is located behind the CEC Hostel and adjacent to the R&E Cafeteria.

In the latest edition of the AppliedHE Public and Private University rankings, Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has reaffirmed its strong global standing by securing the 69th position in ASEAN Region and the 4th rank among public universities in the Philippines. CLSU has been recognized for its high ratings in key areas, including Employability, Quality of Teaching and Learning, Cutting-Edge Research, Community Engagement, Internationalization, and Institutional Reputation. This accomplishment underscores CLSU's unwavering commitment to academic excellence and community development. The recent typhoon brought challenges to Central Luzon State University, leaving visible signs of its impact across the campus.
