Central Luzon State University (CLSU) is among the 16 Philippine Higher Education Institutions (PHEIs) recognized by the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings (WUR) 2025, achieving ‘Reporter Status.’
In its second year of inclusion in THE WUR, #CLSU retained its status, indicating that while it has made significant progress, it has yet to meet one of the key metrics—specifically, the required number of Scopus-indexed publications—to qualify for a full ranking.
The WUR metric for research publications in Elsevier’s Scopus-indexed journals requires universities to produce 1,000 publications over five years, with a minimum threshold of 150 publications per year. CLSU continues to pursue strategic efforts to meet this metric while strengthening its research output.
THE WUR is a global performance tables that judge research-intensive universities across all their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. Its performance indicators include the following five areas: Teaching (the learning environment), Research (volume, income and reputation), Citations (research influence), International outlook (staff, students and research), and Industry income (knowledge transfer).
