CLSU’s Poster on Advocacy Against Drugs Wins 1st Place in LEAD Cebu 2024

Focusing on drug abuse prevention and education (DAPE), the Laban sa Ipinagbabawal na Gamot, Tulay na Aagapay sa Sielesyuans at Sambayanan (LIGTAS-CLSU) entry hailed as 1st Place in the school poster presentation competition as part of the Leadership Empowerment Against Dopes (LEAD) event last February 15-17, 2024, at the Golden Prince Hotel, Cebu City, Cebu. Besting other universities and colleges across the country, the team composed of Aljone V. Viterbo, Carl Danielle C. Cabuhat, Vhon Wilmer E. Destor, Raymon Jay N. Vallarta, Rod Christian L. Mendoza, and Laynel V. Frias, highlighted in their output the LIGTAS mission, vision, statistics regarding Persons Who Use Drugs (PWUDs), accomplishments, sustainable frameworks, and the development goals. With the theme “We can. We must. Stay away from illegal drugs,” the three-day seminar-workshop and training program was organized by the Association of Advocates Against Drugs (A3D) with activities and plenary talks regarding the nation's drug situation, and preventive measures inside the campuses and communities. Continuing to fight the adverse effects of illegal drug abuse, the LIGTAS-CLSU core group is expected to realize the proposals and projects in their winning poster and is set to polish their maneuver towards a healthier and more peaceful society.

CLSU Holds Blessing for Farmers’ Training Hostel

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) officially inaugurated the Farmers’ Training Hostel during a blessing ceremony held on November 20, 2024. The blessing was led by Fr. Rufo Ramil Cruz, CLSU Chaplain, joined by Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, University President, Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, Vice President for Administration, Dr. RavelinaR. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Karenina B. Romualdo, Vice President for University Business Affairs, Dr. Ma. Elizabeth C. Leoveras, Head of Auxiliary Services alongside other esteemed members of the Administrative Council. The newly renovated Farmers’ Training Hostel is a two-story building with 24 rooms, designed to accommodate visitors and guests, particularly those attending stay-in training programs. The hostel is located behind the CEC Hostel and adjacent to the R&E Cafeteria.

CLSU Maintains Strong Global Standing, Ranks 69th in 2025 AppliedHE

In the latest edition of the AppliedHE Public and Private University rankings, Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has reaffirmed its strong global standing by securing the 69th position in ASEAN Region and the 4th rank among public universities in the Philippines. CLSU has been recognized for its high ratings in key areas, including Employability, Quality of Teaching and Learning, Cutting-Edge Research, Community Engagement, Internationalization, and Institutional Reputation. This accomplishment underscores CLSU's unwavering commitment to academic excellence and community development. The recent typhoon brought challenges to Central Luzon State University, leaving visible signs of its impact across the campus.
