CLSU Secures 195 Medals; Finishes Strong as 2nd Runner-Up in SCUAA III Olympics

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) Green Cobras wrapped up the State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) Regional Olympics 2024 with 195 medals, earning the 2nd Runner-Up spot after a week-long competition from May 19 to 24, 2024 which unfolded at the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) in Camiling, Tarlac. Demonstrating their athletic prowess, the Green Cobras snagged 63 gold, 60 silver, and 72 bronze medals placing them behind the Bataan Peninsula State University with only a 2-gold difference (65 gold, 63 silver, 49 bronze) and the dominant Bulacan State University finishing with 103 gold, 77 silver and 65 bronze medals based on the official overall standing. Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, University President along with Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, VP for Administration, Dr. Edgar A. Orden, VP for Research and Extension and other CLSU officials attended the event offering unwavering support to the athletes in key events such as Volleyball, Women’s Softball, Futsal among others. Prof. John A. Agaton, Head of the Sports Development Office proudly accepted the trophy on behalf of the University and the student athletes symbolizing the collective triumph and dedication of the entire CLSU community. The impact of the Green Cobras' triumph extends far beyond the confines of the sports arena, resonating deeply within the university community and beyond. Indeed, rigorous training and preparation laid the foundation for the Green Cobras' stellar performance bringing pride and honor to the university. CLSU Celebrates Monthlong CSC Anniversary

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) proudly joined in the nationwide celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service Commission (CSC), showcasing its commitment to excellence in public service. Throughout September, the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) organized a series of activities for employees designed to foster camaraderie, strengthen professional skills, and promote holistic well-being among its staff. These events include a diverse lineup, featuring Fun Run, Wellness Day, and Sportsfest, which promote health and community spirit, while Customer Relations Management Training sharpens professional skills. The University also facilitated Philsys National ID Registration and a vital Bloodletting Activity, underscoring its dedication to both its staff and the wider community.

CLSU Receives Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity Award

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Financial Management Services led by Dir. Jinky Parugrug, has been honored with the "Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity" Award for the second consecutive time. The recognition was conferred during the Government Financial Management Innovations Circle, Inc.'s (GFMIC) 16th Annual National Convention, held on September 25, 2025, in Tagbilaran, Bohol. This accolade underscores CLSU's exemplary utilization of the Electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS). The eNGAS is a critical software solution designed to modernize government accounting, ensuring all financial transactions are processed with accuracy, reliability, completeness, and timeliness. CLSU stands out among academic institutions, being one of only three universities nationwide, alongside Tarlac State University and Bukidnon State University, to receive this distinction. Other awardees were drawn from National Government Agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs). The award was formally accepted by Mr. John Mark Tangonan, head of the Accounting Office, together with staff from both the Accounting and Budget Office. This achievement serves as a significant affirmation of CLSU's strong commitment to digitalization and its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy in financial reporting.
