The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) Green Cobras wrapped up the State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) Regional Olympics 2024 with 195 medals, earning the 2nd Runner-Up spot after a week-long competition from May 19 to 24, 2024 which unfolded at the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) in Camiling, Tarlac.
Demonstrating their athletic prowess, the Green Cobras snagged 63 gold, 60 silver, and 72 bronze medals placing them behind the Bataan Peninsula State University with only a 2-gold difference (65 gold, 63 silver, 49 bronze) and the dominant Bulacan State University finishing with 103 gold, 77 silver and 65 bronze medals based on the official overall standing.
Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, University President along with Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, VP for Administration, Dr. Edgar A. Orden, VP for Research and Extension and other CLSU officials attended the event offering unwavering support to the athletes in key events such as Volleyball, Women’s Softball, Futsal among others.
Prof. John A. Agaton, Head of the Sports Development Office proudly accepted the trophy on behalf of the University and the student athletes symbolizing the collective triumph and dedication of the entire CLSU community.
The impact of the Green Cobras' triumph extends far beyond the confines of the sports arena, resonating deeply within the university community and beyond. Indeed, rigorous training and preparation laid the foundation for the Green Cobras' stellar performance bringing pride and honor to the university.
