More than 200 faculty and staff of Central Luzon State University led by University President Edgar A. Orden watched and supported the film "The Blind Soldiers" starring Long Mejia, Soliman Cruz, Gary Lim, Bong Cabrera, and Commission on Higher Education Commissioner Ronald Adamat, as part of the celebration of Civil Service Commission's 123rd Anniversary with the theme “Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant-Heroes”. The movie highlights the plight of five men from the Teduray tribe of Cotabato who volunteered for the United States of Armed Forces in the Far East (USAFFE) during the World War II and later realized that their intention to save their Motherland entails more than just courage but also the abilities to read and write. President Orden mentioned that this is also one way for the CLSU community to embrace peace as a virtue likewise, to appreciate the culture of indigenous peoples as can be seen in the film. These are just few of Comm. Adamat’s advocacies which he intends to champion and to further inspire the youth of today. "The Blind Soldiers" is a finalist in Canada's Saskatchewan International Film Festival.
