The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) once again took significant steps in expanding its collaborative network by signing a series of Memoranda of Agreement (MOAs) and Understanding (MOU) aimed at promoting sustainable aviation, industry engagement, and youth empowerment. The series of signing ceremony was led by the University President, Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, were held on October 24, 2025.
CLSU, through its Center for Renewable Energy & Technology (CREaTe) and the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (DABE), represented by Dr. Wendy C. Mateo, Director of CREaTe, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Island Skies Alliance (ISA), represented by Mr. Junard J. Cruz, Chief Executive Officer of ISA. ISA, a nonprofit organization focused on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), recognizes CLSU as a key institution in developing feedstock for SAF.
This partnership makes CLSU important in promoting renewable energy in aviation, supporting SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 7 (Clean Energy). Both parties will collaborate and strive to improve sustainability and decarbonization efforts in aviation.
Meanwhile, through the CLSU Laboratory for Teaching and Learning - Agricultural Science and Technology School (CLTL-ASTS), led by Dr. Ma. Catalina D. Cadiz, the university partnered with REM Pizza Parlor (Shakey’s San Jose), represented by Ms. Camille Elizabeth N. Saculles, Branch Manager. This agreement helps CLTL-ASTS Senior High School Students meet TESDA industry standards and gain in-demand skills, making them more competitive for future employment and entrepreneurship.
Lastly, the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), led by Dr. Irene G. Bustos, renewed its partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), represented by Ms. Mylene L. Evangelista Chief of Labor and Employment of DOLE Nueva Ecija. The agreement aims to enhance the Job Placement Office (JPO) at CLSU by protecting labor rights, promoting full employment, ensuring equal opportunities regardless of sex, race, or creed, and regulating worker-employer relations. This demonstrates CLSU's commitment to fostering a sustainable employment ecosystem for graduates and the community.
These partnerships exemplify CLSU's holistic approach to institutional growth and public service, highlighting its commitment to driving progress across various local and global sectors.
