Solidifying the impact of Central Luzon State University (CLSU) to the community through the Technology Village Development Program (TVDP), the municipalities of Lupao and Aliaga, Nueva Ecija along with six farmer partners signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) today, May 21 at the OVPAA Amphitheater for the establishment of TVP in their respective municipalities expanding the reach of the program to 17 barangays in 7 municipalities within the province.
Dr. Edgar A. Orden, VP for Research and Extension who initiated the TVDP emphasized that the expansion of the program shows the commitment of CLSU being a state-funded institution, to generate technologies not only for research but to uplift the lives in the community.
The MOA signing was led by University President, Dr. Evaristo A. Abella and the representatives of the Municipal Mayors of Lupao and Aliaga witnessed by technology experts from different specialized R&D Centers along with the faculty and staff under the University Extension Program Office.
“I would like to thank everyone present here today, you have made this event possible which formalizes and further strengthen our partnership with our partners. This is our way forward, to uplift the lives in the community and serve as its enabling partner. We commit that CLSU will continue to pursue this endeavor to cater the needs and interest of all our technology takers,” said President Abella.
Most Rev. Bishop Roberto C. Mallari from the Diocese of San Jose, Nueva Ecija was also present signifying their interest to the TVDP, along with other representatives from the different partner municipalities. To date, CLSU is in partnership with the Municipality of Guimba, Cuyapo, Talavera, Zaragosa and the Science City of Munoz in the implementation of TVPD benefitting a total of 106 farmer partners.
