CLSU TRANSNATIONAL EDUCATION PROJECT HOSTS PROFESSORS FROM UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL

Eight distinguished experts and professors from University of Liverpool (UoL), United Kingdom visited the university last January 8 to evaluate and set the direction of the Transnational Education (TNE) Project between CLSU and UoL regarding the offering of the dual degree program PhD in Sustainable Food System by Research. Dr. Jonathan Rushton, Director of the Center of Excellence in Sustainable Food Systems in Liverpool, headed the delegation composed of his fellow professors and project supervisors, Dr. David Fernig, Dr. Rob Smith, Dr. James Stewart, Dr. Andrew Morse, Dr. David Montagnes, Dr. Grace Thaxton and Dr. Peter Walley. Dr. Renato G. Reyes, CLSU Vice President for Academic Affairs, welcomed the visiting professors and expressed his high hopes and expectations for the program, even mentioning it as a historic development for CLSU being the first higher education institution (HEI) in the country to offer this kind of program. Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Dean, College of Fisheries and TNE Project lead, hosted the meeting. The UK professors were able to meet with their CLSU counterpart led by Dr. Ernesto A. Martin, VP for University Business Affairs, together with the six Transnational Education Faculty Scholars from the university. They are Roanne P. Alberto, Zosimo G. Battad II, Oliver F. Celestino, Jayson J. Juan, Jessica M. Rustia and Fredelon B. Sison are enrolled as the pioneer batch of the PhD program.

CLSU Holds Blessing for Farmers’ Training Hostel

Central Luzon State University (CLSU) officially inaugurated the Farmers’ Training Hostel during a blessing ceremony held on November 20, 2024. The blessing was led by Fr. Rufo Ramil Cruz, CLSU Chaplain, joined by Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, University President, Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, Vice President for Administration, Dr. RavelinaR. Velasco, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Karenina B. Romualdo, Vice President for University Business Affairs, Dr. Ma. Elizabeth C. Leoveras, Head of Auxiliary Services alongside other esteemed members of the Administrative Council. The newly renovated Farmers’ Training Hostel is a two-story building with 24 rooms, designed to accommodate visitors and guests, particularly those attending stay-in training programs. The hostel is located behind the CEC Hostel and adjacent to the R&E Cafeteria.

CLSU Maintains Strong Global Standing, Ranks 69th in 2025 AppliedHE

In the latest edition of the AppliedHE Public and Private University rankings, Central Luzon State University (CLSU) has reaffirmed its strong global standing by securing the 69th position in ASEAN Region and the 4th rank among public universities in the Philippines. CLSU has been recognized for its high ratings in key areas, including Employability, Quality of Teaching and Learning, Cutting-Edge Research, Community Engagement, Internationalization, and Institutional Reputation. This accomplishment underscores CLSU's unwavering commitment to academic excellence and community development. AFTERMATH AT CLSU | Restore and Rebuild

The recent typhoon brought challenges to Central Luzon State University, leaving visible signs of its impact across the campus. These photos highlight the resilience of the CLSU community as we come together to restore and rebuild.
