Officials of the Central Luzon State University and the CLSU Alumni Association, Inc. (CLSUAAI) led the opening ceremony of the two-day 2019 Alumni Homecoming which was held February 8 at 8:00 a.m at the University’s Multipurpose Gym.
The alumni employed in the university and those from other agencies/institutions, other CLSU faculty and staff, and students graced the opening program.
The alumni activities were ushered in by the opening of exhibits put up by the eight colleges of the University which showcase products, as well as information about their programs, activities, strengths and their successful alumni; and the ‘Professor of the Day’ activity which involves invited alumni who will share their experiences and success stories to the students of their respective mother colleges.
Dr. Tereso A. Abella, CLSU president, in his welcome remarks, acknowledged the attendees especially the Professors of the Day and other alumni whom he said are modern day heroes.
“The video footages shown in the Prayer and National Anthem audio visual presentation are among of the highlights of accomplishments of CLSU. Ang CLSU ay sumusulong dahil din sa suporta ng ating mga alumni at Professors of the Day na nagsi-share ng kaalaman at nagbibigay ng inspirasyon sa ating mga estudyante,” Dr. Abella said.
For his part, Prof. Nemesio V. Torres, CLSUAAI President, in his opening remarks, thanked the CLSU management for its all-out support to the CLSUAAI. He also recognized the Professors of the Day and all the alumni and other attendees.
Dr. Edwin D. Ibañez, Alumni Relations Office (ARO) coordinator, presented the 16 Professors of the Day.
Meanwhile, Dr. Abella is hosting a dinner and socials in the evening of February 8 dubbed as President’s Night.
The Alumni Homecoming and General Assembly Meeting will be held on February 9. It will be highlighted by the giving of awards to all alumni who excelled in various fields.
