DOST-PCAARRD Awards CLAARRDEC the Excellence in Partnerships Award; President Abella Leads Consortium Delegation

Dr. Evaristo A. Abella, University President and Central Luzon Agriculture and Aquatic Resources Research and Development Consortium (CLAARRDEC) Regional R&D Coordinating Council (RRDCC) Chair, together with Dr. Edgar A. Orden, Vice President for R&E and Consortium Director, Dr. Aldrin T. Badua, UEPO Director and Technology Transfer and Promotion Cluster Coordinator, and Assoc. Prof. Maria Adrielle S. Estigoy, PMS Director and Science Communication Cluster Coordinator, received the Excellence in Partnerships Award bestowed to the Consortium by the Department of Science and Technology- Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD). The award, given during the 2024 Joint PCAARRD Special Directors’ Council and Regional Consortia Meeting, held today, November 8, at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City, recognized the Consortium’s outstanding efforts in sustaining partnership and collaboration with member institutions and driving positive change in the AANR sector of Central Luzon. During the event, Dr. Abella was also introduced as one of the new consortia officials. Additionally, the Council honored Mr. Neal A. Del Rosario, CLSU Small Ruminant Center Director, for his service as OIC Consortium Director from September to December 2023, and Dr. Orden for his roles as RRDCC Chair from June to December 2023 and as Consortium Director throughout 2024. CLSU is the base agency of CLAARRDEC operating since 1976 to promote generation and commercialization of technologies on agriculture, fisheries and natural resources for sustainable development and global competitiveness in the region.

CLSU Celebrates Monthlong CSC Anniversary

The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) proudly joined in the nationwide celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service Commission (CSC), showcasing its commitment to excellence in public service. Throughout September, the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) organized a series of activities for employees designed to foster camaraderie, strengthen professional skills, and promote holistic well-being among its staff. These events include a diverse lineup, featuring Fun Run, Wellness Day, and Sportsfest, which promote health and community spirit, while Customer Relations Management Training sharpens professional skills. The University also facilitated Philsys National ID Registration and a vital Bloodletting Activity, underscoring its dedication to both its staff and the wider community.

CLSU Receives Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity Award

Central Luzon State University (CLSU), through its Financial Management Services led by Dir. Jinky Parugrug, has been honored with the "Outstanding eNGAS and eBudget System User Entity" Award for the second consecutive time. The recognition was conferred during the Government Financial Management Innovations Circle, Inc.'s (GFMIC) 16th Annual National Convention, held on September 25, 2025, in Tagbilaran, Bohol. This accolade underscores CLSU's exemplary utilization of the Electronic New Government Accounting System (eNGAS). The eNGAS is a critical software solution designed to modernize government accounting, ensuring all financial transactions are processed with accuracy, reliability, completeness, and timeliness. CLSU stands out among academic institutions, being one of only three universities nationwide, alongside Tarlac State University and Bukidnon State University, to receive this distinction. Other awardees were drawn from National Government Agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs). The award was formally accepted by Mr. John Mark Tangonan, head of the Accounting Office, together with staff from both the Accounting and Budget Office. This achievement serves as a significant affirmation of CLSU's strong commitment to digitalization and its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy in financial reporting.
