Green Cobras Sets Eye on Podium at SCUAA Region III Olympics, Demonstrates Powerful Presence in the Opening Ceremony

The student-athletes of Central Luzon State University (CLSU) showcased their venomous competitive spirit during the opening ceremony of the State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) Region III Olympics, held on February 22, 2026, at the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) Sumacab Campus, Cabanatuan City. Marching with formidable pride and honor, the 255-strong CLSU Green Cobras embodied the discipline, sportsmanship, and commitment cultivated through months of rigorous training. Joined by more than 200 coaches, trainers, officials, and backliners, the delegation’s strong presence signaled a clear intent to secure a podium finish in this year’s regional meet. Maegan Ashley V. Mudlong, Green Cobras softball player, vowed that her team would leave everything on the field. “Gagawin po namin ang aming makakaya, ibibigay namin ang best namin hanggang makuha namin ang gold,” she shared. Showing his unwavering support, CLSU President Dr. Evaristo A. Abella joined the athletes during the parade together with Vice President for Administration, Dr. Ariel G. Mactal, and Head of SDO, Assoc. Prof. John Agaton. Their presence significantly boosted the morale of the players, who are now more determined than ever to fight for the podium. The highly anticipated regional conclave features top-tier athletes from various state universities and colleges (SUCs) across Central Luzon. Furthermore, as host of this year’s SCUAA, NEUST showcased its readiness and vibrant school spirit as more than 3,000 students lit up the opening ceremony with a spectacular mass dance performance, capped by a dazzling fireworks display to officially open the games.
