Central Luzon State University (CLSU) faculty member, Engr. Juderick Poblete secured the Best Poster Presenter award (Professional Category) during the 2025 Philippine Meteorological Society (PMS) Annual Convention held at Novotel, Quezon City on March 17-18, 2025.
The convention, themed “Leveraging Meteorology for Sustainable Development and Strengthening Philippine Resiliency to Hydrometeorological Hazards,” brought together experts from PAGASA and other meteorological agencies. His research entitled, “Estimating Rice Areas Using Modified Community Level-SARAI Enhanced Agricultural Monitoring System (CL-SEAMS) in Lupao, Nueva Ecija, Philippines,” was recognized for its potential to enhance farm productivity and its significant contribution to the field of meteorology.
Meanwhile, Ms. Mikka Romey, BS Meteorology student, delivered an oral presentation on “Assessment of Cooling Effects from Hypothetical Linear Tree Placements in CLSU New Community Market using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Modelling.”
Ms. Aira Bernardino, Ms. Angel Pineda, Ms. Kimlyn Cruz, Mr. Richmond Jasper Barlis, Ms. Patricia Anne Alabado, and Mr. David Tubban, also BS Meteorology students, showcased their research through poster presentations.
In addition, Asst. Prof. Henrison Sanchez graced the event as a member of the PMS Board of Trustees. CLSU’s strong presence at the convention highlights its role in advancing meteorological research and education in the Philippines.
